Like your Jeep. I've got a black SCAR 16s and FDE SCAR 17s. I bought the 16 first and it shoots so well I bought the 17. The heavy is an incredible rifle. It is light for a .308 and the recoil is amazingly well controlled. I have a Trijicon 1-4X Accupoint on a Bobro extended mount on the 16, it is a great scope with an easy tp point red triangle. I also have an Aimpoint T-1 for it. The 17 needs more scope, so I put on a NF 2.5-10X32, rocks my boat.
I'm debating between the 17s and the 16s, I probably would of went with the 16s but I have an ar15 and I want something with a different caliber but I'm not sure
@jtaghero -- If you can do the 17, I would recommend it. Different rifle, caliber and more power than the AR15. If you get this in 16, you may want to get rid of the AR. Well, maybe not as the AR15 is easy to change parts and upgrade into different configurations as desired. Only downside to the FN SCAR family is the limited to no availability of spare parts. It is what it is out of the box. Damn good but limited.
@mrlaserguy2 --Yes, the SCAR Panels are good. It's the FN side rails that need improvement. They are made of a composite material and need to be anodized alum. like the top and bottom rail in FDE.
hey question for you is the reticle lit by tritium at night to the 350 yard hash mark or is that only during the day utilizing the fiber optics. Hope that
@MeatPlowMcGill1 -- It made sense. On this model, fiber optic works during the day. At night, the Tritium takes over. If the reticle is too bright during the day, you can tape on a thin piece of 100-mile-an-hour tape and peel back as you need more reticle brightness. Hooooooah!!
VERY nice setup. Only thing I would change is I would swap that stock grip out for a Magpul MIAD or MOE. You have to modify the grip tang and dremel out a bit of the grip material from the inside of the grip, but it's worth it to not have that skinny stock A2 grip, in my humble opinion. I did it on my 16S and love it.
@Artjom117 --Correct, if you don't care about accuracy. If you are speaking about a Krebs Customs, then that is a nice AK. Century = Garbage. This SCAR Runs circles around the 74.
@interofficemac -- Grip Pod is the manufacturer of the "Grippod". Grippod dot com for the website and this is the "Military" version with the steel reinforced legs. They run these pods on the SAW M249 Light Machinegun. It's tough. The LE Version is not reinforced.
you know TNVC has civilian legal AN-PEQ 15A in stock in dark earth for sale now, for get this >>>849<<<< hahaha and thats with a green laser.., i suggest you give on a try on this beauty and she's DONE
Hey HarrisTactical i have the same basic setup as you here on your scar excpet mine is black but i was wondering what kind of a case would you recommend for me because i am having a hard time fitting mine in a case
@JSwanny1030 -- Couldn't agree more on with needing better Ergonomics. Rear Grip needs a FDE or Coyote Ergo Grip and a Magpul AFG on the front. I installed a Grip pod for the grip/bipod option with the ACOG 4x32.
My pants got shorter.

Only countries that use the AK are countries that are broke. Even China moved away from the AK now that they have money.

That's a lot of toys on one rifle. Nice choice man, that thing kicks ass.

im diggen th rubicon nice rig but yea that optic is pricy id go for a luepold mark 4 1.5- 5 power
neumangirl 1 year ago 2
@neumangirl -- Good Choice on the Mark 4 1.5-5. I agree based on price and eye relief. However, the FDE ACOG looks right at home with this SCAR.
HarrisTactical 1 year ago
Nice rifle. I bet that ran about 4grand at least with all the optics and furniture
Dgaf82 1 year ago
@Dgaf82 -- A little more with the MIL GripPod and TangoDown Rail Covers. The ACOG on there is the deal breaker.

honestly cant think of a nicer looking rifle/setup on the internet id want. maybe put a tan grip on w/ some sort of ergonomics...if that

that acog made me splooge my pants
ezzyfuzzmann 1 year ago 9
@ezzyfuzzmann - Haha! The ACOG is the ultimate optic for battle rifles IMO. Lightweight, clean glass, illuminated and compact.
HarrisTactical 1 year ago 4
@HarrisTactical too bad the eye relief sucks tho. better off with an Aimpoint unless you're out shooting man-sized targets past 300 yards.
Fartybutt520 1 year ago
@Fartybutt520 -- Yeah, the ACOG's eye relief is not great. Would not recommend this optic on a bolt action Rifle!
