I really thought there was going to be more behind it because the movie made you wonder if the cops were making him lie and even if the murderer was just a victim of the corruption because he didnt want to speak because he didnt want to lie. It was more to do with the ignorance on the part of the police, how they viewed woman, and abuse of power. Definitely more justice in the movie but I Wanted them to rewrite history

Gordon's mum did confess that she killed Walter. It might be true, or she might only have said it to protect her son. But poor Walter was never found and we will never know what happened to him, since he never was found I think he died there at the farm. Gordon or his mother killed him.
no they never found the body, she never found her real son but some other kid was found and he said that her kid escaped with him but he never saw him again after the escape

The first time watching this I wasn't impressed at all.I thought it was boring.
But six months later, I watched it again and was on the edge of my seat really liking it.
It's weird how movies do that to you.
I sure hope Clint Eastwood makes one or two more movies while can....he's one of the best at what he does.
