The form of your shot is affected by your amount of whip. The more whip the more back u can pull back to rip it. The more u pull back the more fluid it looks the most of the time. My thoughts at least. If you have a head strung right can have a lot of whip on it and still pass easily.

This is the best skill a midfielder can have. I wish I had focused on it more back when I played. Its actually several skills. You have to be fast, a good enough dodger to get a few steps on your defenseman, very strong lefty and righty, able to generage a strong wind-up while on the run, and have an accurate shot.

The secret to his shooting is how he seems to run backwards after the shot. I never use to do this, but my on the run shot has improved do to it. I generate more torque by unwinding like that.

no it isn't retard, how tight ur shooters are is only one of the things that affects how much whip is has, how high the pocket is and placement of shooters has more to do with it, and they don't, "make the ball go down" when the ball moves up in the pocket during a shot, it catches or hooks on the slope of the mesh at the top of the head, or on the shooters.

Young players shouldnt model their shooting style after rabil. A fade away alley dodge from 10 plus yards out is impossible if you dont have the forearm, torso and leg strength that he does

true. but you only fadeaway to gain separation. you gotta lean hard back into the shot to get your weight behind it. we have a disgusting sophomore who isn't particularly strong and makes a very similar dodge and shot and it rarely fails. he does a stepback/fadeaway etc to get his hands free and leans hard into the shot to get power. he's very good
