As a 15 year old guy, I think its safe to say that todays music doesn't hold a candle to Sinatra, Elvis anyone with talent. But im not gonna bash because thats not the gentlemanly way
Ridley Scott used this on the soundtrack of Matchstick Men. The whole soundtrack is wonderful, btw. The late Lee Hazlewood, the These Boots Are Made for Walking author, wrote it. Nice internal rhymes....
THIS SONG is a GOTCHA SONG and an OLE BLUE EYES SONG thats THIS SONG
THIS SONG is my FAVORITE SINATRA SONG it fits the photo of Meg & Frank sitting on conducters steps at Capitol Records mid 50's during a break of cross the hall recording sessions long before THIS TOWN ...there's more !!!
@1969alias Jim Morrison is the shit and no one can say otherwise, so is Sinatra, a lot of people didn't like Van Gogh in his time, doesnt mean a thing
This is my favorite Sinatra song. What a voccal and a sophisticated and complex arrangement! And Frank dances over the complex and brash arrangement it like a ballet master. He makes it seem effortless, but his voice adds to the genuine excitement and restlessness of the song. They don't make singers like this anymore.....
Originally written for the 1967 Warner Bros. "teen musical", "The Cool Ones" [the less said about it, the better], and initially featured on the "The World We Knew" album [F/FS 1022]. Nancy Sinatra recorded her own version as well...

Jim Morrison once said he really dug Sinatra's voice...I don't believe the feeling was mutual.

How cool was it for JERRY WEINTRAUB to highlight 'This Town' in his 'Oceans 13.'
He shook hands with Sinatra for reals.
Las Vegas LOVES Jerry Weintraub.
