cool video. the music definatly has the folk metal thing going on but not as hard as some other bands in the genre. ( eluvitie, skyforger, ensiferum, etc....). good stuff though. Actually met some of these guys over the weekend at "yule like it festival" at summerland. Incredibly nice people! Definatly a band worth watching.
Is it fully loaded when it tries to play? If so, try updating your flash, like you said. Beyond that, I couldn't tell you. Maybe your browser needs updated, too, but I can't imagine that being an issue.
They're such a good band. The video is pretty good. I think maybe you couldhave used DOF to your advantage, a few more close ups. Or mess with the contrast/color tone to really give this more character. The camera angles are alright. I learned to be uber careful with white clothing because if you look closely you can see at times her dress is pure white. I still think this is a great video. :D
AcoustiksDrumnBass: Thanks so much! I put her in pure white on purpose. I know it blows out, but I wanted it to. I shot on a Panasonic DVX-100b set to "squeeze" mode at 24 fps and edited in Final Cut Studio.
There's not a lot of DOF in SD without zooming in all the way and getting as far away from your subject as possible which I couldn't do so much on this particular project, but have done before to great effect.
Did you have it on automatic? There is nothing wrong with white at all. You just have to be super careful of not over exposing. I usually intentionally underexpose my image. It is much easier to fix an underexposed image than on over exposed one.
Most CCD camera's have really small sensors, so getting DOF is difficult. My camera has a CMOS and it is one big chip, so it makes it easier.
Did you try putting your f stop all the way open? like f1.8? Or set your shutter speed higher?
I never run my camera on auto, but my iris was set kind of open during most of the shoot - I couldn't tell you numbers, I didn't write any down. I had intended originally to make this video high contrast black and white, like a previous film I made, and during that previous shoot I over exposed on purpose (and I had a character dressed in white there, too.) The shots of her in black and white looked fantastic and beautifully blown out, but other shots in the video looked much better in colour.
