  • Looks good. I built basically the same thing but used tempered glass instead of the polycarbinate. I first tried the polyC but the internal temps got to 235F and the polyC and insulation melted

  • Put a two way directional wye joint on your intake, and you can choose where your intake comes from, in or out!

  • Very nice. I love it! Great looking heater. I've see the downspout idea before. richallenmusic uses this set-up. He's had very good results too. This looks like the way to go. How many watts are the solar panels, and how much did they cost? I am using one 18 volt trickle charging panel I bought for about $25. I need one more to run both fans. Right now i'm using a 12 volt battery that stays charged by the panel.

I have to give credit to Rich for the down spout idea, it really cleaned up the overall look panel.

The solar panels are 10 watts each, a total of 30 watts. I had purchased these panels on eBay and had them laying around my shop, so I decided to put them to use.

This coming winter will be the true test to see if this heater performs well.

The CFM seems to be fine, I had this in place for several weeks before I made this video. My concerns was that I didn't have too much or too little air flow with regards to allowing the air to become heated inside of the soda cans.

  • Great idea and great video!
