she deserved an oscar for Bus Stop. not one actor, male or female, was capable of such fine regional dialects or sublime comedic performances back then.
At almost 30 years of age in this video, Marilyn looks so elegant graceful stunning and still young; she looks more youthful than most of these modern day trashy raunchy celebrities we have today! Her times back then were truely the golden age of celebrities; now, it's more like who can out do who in shock value! thank you to PHENTESILEA for this upload! John
@smooth7No, she was not Hollywood at all. Elle était fragile, réservée, timide - et elle était consciente de cette différence entre la star et sa personalité: "I'm different". She WAS different, because she was a victim of the rules of Hollywood.
I think the Redskins would or could have won the Superbowl had they just got past an overconfident Seattle team. Then again- who would have thought the Giants would beat the Patriots or "any" AFC champs for that natter.
hey ruby, try How to Marry a Millionare, or Bus Stop if you want to see her really act. There'e No Business Like Show Business was a good movie even though her role wasn't as big. hope that helps :)
in the film 'Niagra' she also plays a purely dramtic role which isnt a comedy/musical(altho im a big fan of her usical comedys)in fact its a murder mystery which centres on an unhapily married couple who holiday at niagra falls. marilyn plays the wife wonderfully. it was one of the first dramatic roles of hers i saw along with the misfits. its a shame she wasn't more apreciated for this sort of work in her lifetime.
It's so sad that she was typecast as the dumb blonde, because if this clip is any indication, she seemed like a wonderful and witty woman.
In fact, I'm going through a Marilyn Monroe phase--I've seen Some Like it Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and 7 Year Itch--what are some other great roles for her?

Amazing. She is the meaning of Hollywood. I like she laughed at the lady for listening to rumours.

She was the prettiest when they left her alone to be herself, a natural beauty.
