Very good video, thank you for posting it. I can't understand some of the previous comments, its like they were watching a different video...o complete miss the point of it.
hiya, as someone looking into breast augmentation with these implants or similar (soft touch) how did this rupture occur? was it a silent rupture or was there some kind of trauma/ accident. Is it usual for the gel not to remain 'like solid jelly', and what were the ramifications for the patient? did it leak out of the scar capsule? Your response would be very much appreciate. this actually made me cancel my BA! thanks for the info
Unfortunately you have misinterpreted the video. The implant has not been "cut open" It is the capsule or membrane surrounding the implant that is opened with blunt tip scissors specifically so the already leaking implant is not further damaged. Diathermy ("the hot pencil tool") was used to expose the capsule surrounding the implant but this is not shown to keep the video short. The purpose of the video is not to show how to remove an implant but to show how this gel can behave when it leaks.
@drdanielvfleming Thank you for making it clear for those who are far too opinionated for their education level. Excellent video, and informative to those who are researching breast augmentation. I appreciate you uploading the video for those who benefit from the info (such as myself).

Interesting video.. I have seen this happen to a 410 high cohesive gel, and to soft touch 510. surprising how differently they react in-vivo.
interested to know what is your experience MISSONETOO on the matter, I find your comments unfounded. This is one way of removing a ruptured implant, but please enlighten us to how you think it should be done!!
@GalwaySummer Well first of all the surgeon cut the implant open as it was still inside the woman, while cutting the skin... should have used one of those hot pencil tools that burns the skin open, rather then that surgical knife. In other removals i've seen, they dont cut the implant while it's in the woman like that.
I am extremely shocked and saddened by this video. It is much too obvious that this surgeon has had no experience or knowledge on the proper way to remove a leaking implant. He should lose his lisence for this one video alone!!

Wow, acts more like adhesive than cohesive gel.
