Not that it really matters, but just because someone is from a "Latin" country, doesn't make them 100% Latino. The vast majority of the population in Latin American countries are are "mestizos" ie. a mix between the indiginous indians and the european settlers (check any wikipedia article about a country in latin america and look under "demographics" it's usually around 90% or so). Here in Europe, latinos/hispanics would never be classified as "white" but the US census bureau classifies them as white in their statistics.

it is not weird. english is my second language as well; i grew up in the states and i don't have an accent. i learned it a young age like alexis. usually, when people learn a new language when they are young they do not have accents, especially when they grow up in the country where the new language is spoken.
I didn't even grow up in the States, but I'm French-Canadian and was exposed to English a lot when I was younger, and now I'm pretty sure I don't have an accent, at least not a noticeable one.

Agghhhh!!! GOD LADY, don't say you love her hair short. It looks gross short. She looks beautiful with long hair. Now Alexis is probably going to keep it short because that dumb lady said it looks nice. LONG HAIR SUITS HER MORE! She looks more mature and smart with long hair.

Alexis Bledel is gorgeous, and though some criticize how quick they talk on Gilmore Girls...it doesn't bother me, I LOVE that show. Those pretty blue eyes :)

It's weird that someone born of foreign parents does not have an accent? Please, I get so sick of hearing that! I too speak English as a 2nd language, I don't have an accent and I hear this dumb comment all the time. Grr.

yep, that's so true. I'm from Colombia, but most of my family are living in United States. My cousins were born there and they don't have accent..

it is not weird. english is my second language as well; i grew up in the states and i don't have an accent. i learned it a young age like alexis. usually, when people learn a new language when they are young they do not have accents, especially when they grow up in the country where the new language is spoken.

I didn't even grow up in the States, but I'm French-Canadian and was exposed to English a lot when I was younger, and now I'm pretty sure I don't have an accent, at least not a noticeable one.

@LMissethereal Same here. My mom never learned English, so I must converse with her in her native tongue, but my English is essentially lacking in accent. More importantly, Alexis is friggn cute.

it ain't sharon's fault.i think alexis has a social phobia.that means that she feels uncomfortable in front of a group of people or a person whom she doesn't know well.we could also say that she's a bit too shy for an actress but her performance in gilmore girls is very good and that's all that matters.after all her main job is to act not to give interviews.

I think Alexis looks like Audrey Hepburn-one of the most beautiful and elegant women of all time, and she's not like her contemporaries who just mindlessly gossip and party. She's extraordinary! :)
