As a kid, I remember I'd play this game, & my Dad liked the music from the last boss so much, he'd have me beat the game & put the tune as b/g music on his answering machine.

He'd mess up the msg and I'd have to keep beating the game over again until he got it right. It only took like 20 mins to beat. Haha.

it was the final boss of stage 3. as you should know, there is a bonus level after each final boss, where you can get 1,2,3 lives or the flower for "fire mario". Fortunately, I got the flower and grew up to fire mario. Thats the reason for the moving from puny to fire mario. That video is made without cheating!!!!

my respect but still i am doubting i you didn't use an emulator with cheats or something with cheats cuz at 6.50-6.51 you jump through a plant and when you are running you see all the enemies who are in pipes a little forward.

this game was way too tough for me. it is so easy to die here, you only have to get hit once. totally destroyed it for me, way too much frustration. now super mario 2 was much easier because of those power ups it had, which were useful by themselves, but which also permitted you to get hit twice and get away with it.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I'm actually curious, how did you go from small mario at the end of level 3 to fire-flower mario at the start of level 4? (6:29)

Hey, It was the final level of world 3. After the last enemy throwing these stones, you always come to a bonus level, where you can win three lives, two lives, one live or a flower.I catched the flower and thats why I became "fire-flower" mario in world 4. I cutted out these video scenes after the levels, so you canÄt see the bonus level in this video. But no sort of cheat ;-)

No sort of cheat! You can only die, running straight through that flowers. But I only touched them at the top of it. No cheats used, it was a real Speedrun!!! Peace
