  • I was in 8th grade and my dad bought this album for my birthday.Strangely, I can still remember the smell of the cover paper inside the tape, every time i opened it to read the lyrics.

  • This song kicks ass. And hooooly crap... all the band members were especially super hot in this video. DAYUM.

  • Is that the bass player (Adam Clayton) for U2 in there? Someone tell me....please

  • @alisterfolson no!!!he isn't!!

  • AGUANTE DURAN DURAN"I DON'T WANT YOUR LOVE",¿CUANTAS VECES LAS CHICAS Y LOS CHICOS HABRAN USADO ESTA FRASE PARA ROMPER UNA RELACION,¿NO LES PARECE?

  • Loved this song off of the "Big Thing" album. Duran Duran was till at the top of their game.

  • @kja427 who the hell is Rick Taylor? I'm assuming you mean Roger Taylor the drummer?

  • Just FYI: This video features Shep Pettibone's radio mix edit (3:59). It is NOT Shep's "Big Mix" (7:35).

  • This song completely changed the course of my life. I was into Bobby Brown, MC Hammer etc., when this video was released. I was a sophmore in high school, and I fell in love with this song, and with the dark haired guy (John) in the video. This was considered "Post Modern" back then, so I researched all I could on this kind of music. It got me turned on to New Order, The Cure, Depeche Mode and Erasure, Siousxie, and all of the poplular Alternative groups of the day. Thank you DD.

  • @brbgal glad this song changed your course cause you were heading down the wrong path with Bobby & MC;) much love for all the other groups you mentioned, especially DM, Siousxie, & the cure

  • @brbgal it's always enjoyable to read something nice in these pages, thank you for taking the time, and sharing it ;)

  • @brbgal I think "Post Modern" is a dyslexic way of looking at things.

  • @brbgal WOW...that's deep. I just thought it was a good song.

  • @brbgal Welcome!

LoL I had to say that because I love all those groups too!

(Except you can have Depeche Mode after 1988, they're all yours....).

But yes I too like post modern.

  • Why can't we have music liek this anymore?

I was born in El salvador and funny how I grew up listening to music in English instead of Spanish until age 16, then i came to the USA, still listening to this kind of music

  • @RodrigoMJ32 Indeed i was born in El Salvador and also i live here in USA i grew up listening to all these music, it brings me good memories from my childhood..Cheers man..

  • @RodrigoMJ32 Indeed i was born in El Salvador too and also i live here in USA i grew up listening to all these music, it brings me good memories from my childhood..Cheers man..

  • John was my first crush in life! I was only 5 or something when got into them in 81!

  • the use of horns in their music gives it that edge.

  • Ahhhhhhh the days when white artists would recruit soulful black sistas to sing background on their hits & I LOVED IT!!!!! LONG LIVE THE 70s & 80s!!!!

  • Billboard's #62 hit of '89. The Durans hit #4 in the US. Where'd they chart in the UK? God bless!

  • bei tempi

  • who is the boy at 0: 31?

  • @marcosmetal2008 john taylor

  • What's the singer's name?

I am charmed by this song!

  • @marcosmetal2008 simon le bon

  • Yummy!!! 1:02

  • ITS MEGASOULFULISHNESS! I HAVE TO LY DOWN NOW.

  • Duran Duran: The 1,000 hit wonder

  • Everything about this song is pure genius.

  • Great song! I love it!

  • "my obsessive fascination is in your imagination" - wicked line !

  • I never got into Duran Duran before this song. This and the Power Station finally convinced me they had something.

  • @CarlLikes what about the reflex?

  • THIS SONG HAS A GOOD BEAT

  • Class.Just class.John Taylor - great guy.

  • Damn I love duran duran but these lyrics blow haha

  • great song -

  • Does anyone know who the drummer is in this video? Not Sterling Campbell . Thanx

  • @rjmdrum David Palmer the guy in the video. He drummed with ABC and ask to join Duran for the Big Thing tour but was working with The The at that time,so Sterling Campbell got the tour and became a offical DD member for a few years.

Steve Ferrone plays Live drums on the track along with some programming.

  • Who directed this video? It's terrific!

  • I think Babyface produced this song.

  • errr Nick....growl!

  • John is so sexy in this one! My true love is Simon but John takes the cake in this vid! Duran Duran has a unique sound that breaths LIFE!

  • love this song~my obsessive fascination is in your imagination~

  • Is that Irene Cara, doing the female vocals???

  • The Great Pop Band of the 1980's

    Long Live The 80's

  • gotta love these guys!!!

  • 80's r undisputable!

  • Damn good!

  • I know every word ....after 20 years...my lord...what a great song:P

  • love this song!

  • yes boyz!

  • Not there greatest video - but the fact that we see Nick in front of camera instead of hidden behind his keyboard is a start in the right direction. I have noticed this in the last few years....keep it up

  • one of my favourite duran duran tunes, i find it especially good to dance to!!! Parteeee lol!!! rofl.

  • "I dont mind if u're keeping someone else behind-

i dont care cuz u got something i can share."

    hmmmm....what's going on there?

  • @jaketoledo...hahahah rofl "a twosome, perhaps? jk lol butmaybe true, lol heehee tee hee.

  • @jaketoledo...uh dunno?...maybe he wants a "threeesome"? lol heheh.

  • MASSIVE!

  • Wow!! Retro from Duran Duran... It just goes to show how strong they were at creating songs as they changed with the times. Its too bad they split up. Amazing!!! I love this song.

  • They didn't split up.They just released a new album last year,Nick,Simon, they're are all still together.Check out Falling Down by them on here.

  • @Carolina463 As long as Nick is with Simon, there is Duran Duran. All the rest of them are irrelevant. John Taylor hasn't contributed significantly in over a decade.

  • Did you read the comment I posted? I know it is still Duran Duran.Reading is fundamental.

  • I know they didn't change the name. Since regrouping, Andy Taylor left again, and John Taylor only does the albums - not the tours... but so what? Rhodes and LeBon are all that matter. It's kind of like a pop version of Simon & Garfunkel.

  • wait but john was on all 2008 shows cus i went to see one

  • @TheControllerMusic I don't recall where I read it, but my understanding is that John won't be touring anymore. That information could be wrong. While trying to verify that, I found out that John is the only member of duran duran that went into drug rehab. Duran Duran was created by Nick Rhodes and John Taylor, so getting rid of John isn't easy. I would like to see him go!

  • They were really great indeed

  • OMG! Forgot all about this one! Fraking awesome!

  • Big thing is one of the trhree albums i would bring on a desert island!

  • I like it. That was one of the #1 song of all times.

  • Amazing single from an amazing album...

  • Have nopt heard this in a loooong time.

Crank it and shake it ALL OVER THE HOUSE! :0)

  • hELLO 1988 Luv Shep Pettibone!

  • Bella!

I Duran Duran sono tra le pochissime realtà musicali degli ultimi 30 anni che preferisco

  • i love this song

  • And Nick is the best keyboardist!! Both...total musical geniuses.

  • @staciegirlie lol funny enough Geddy plays keyboards as well. I'll have to give the honor to Nick though.

  • @staciegirlie and Andy Taylor is the best sheriff Mayberry ever had.

  • John Taylor is the best bass guitarist!

  • @staciegirlie no thats Nikki Sixx

  • @staciegirlie Geddy Lee is actually.

  • @nintendojuggalo I'll have to see it to believe it.

  • @staciegirlie Checkout some Rush. John is the bomb, but Geddy is nuclear.

  • Comment removed

  • @nintendojuggalo I'm familiar with Rush, but I will take extra care to listen to the bass.

  • @staciegirlie "Open Secrets" has a Duran Duran style to it. Check it out.

  • Comment removed

  • @staciegirlie

  • @staciegirlie Geddy Lee disagrees.
