Always a great live act - saw them jamming after playing their own set with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and Phil Collen (still in Girl at that time) at the Camden Music Machine before it burnt down at the end of 1980.
paul mario failure thats his name sorry guys but no wonder why steve harris fired his ass back in 1976 from iron maiden he spent a couple of months with the band
I saw MORE many times too in 1980/81 and the stage invasions were great. The only disappointing thing about the "Warhead" album was the exclusion of my favourite song of theirs. It's been a long time, but i think it was called "the power we had to share"? or something very similar. I'm going to try and upload the "Warhead" album onto here if i can. Fond memories of those days. Anyone remember Sledgehammer too?
Just to let you MORE fans know, Brian Day is not dead, he is alive and very well playing some serious metal now!! Heavier than ever. In his new project, all details to be revealed in due course!! \m/
Yeah, for me Depression was their best song :-). Hey GuitarDD, I was there too in Antwerp !!. Didn't they also support Iron the next year at Vorst Nationaal (Killers tour) ?
I see what I can do for you of gewoon in Nederlands: mail me maar even, maak ik er een CD-ROM van.....gewoon een berichtje sturen...krijg je mijn off. e-mail adres
Great band saw them about 80/81 supporting Girlschool in such rock capitals as Peterborouh and Northampton...i think, also headlining Retford Porterhouse...very loud...very good
Got so many memories (and some stories) of this band. My claim to fame is that I am actually singing (read shouting) on their first album on a track called Road Rocket. I was at Binfield Manor when they recorded it.
Worked with the roadcrew for a while but unfortunately lost contact. Had some good times with the band...oh happy days!
I also worked with the band. We did a tour of Britain which also included a 45 minute AC/DC video feature, showing Back in Black and Hells Bells. We carted that around for over a month. Goood times.
Great to see More again. I saw them a number of times in 1980-81.
The Atomic Rock Show at The Granary and the support slots for Krokus and Def Leopard at the Colston Hall stand out. The band encouraged the crowd to join them on stage (stage invasions)as I willingly did at most of the gigs I saw them at.
They were one of the better NWOBHM bands that I saw and were also happy to chat after most gigs, prepared to buy you a pint and their road crew allways had top quality hash.
A great find. Paul sent this to me himself. Quality stuff. Shortly after this video, More supported Iron Maiden in Europe and were very successful. Unfortunaley the band broke up about 6 months later. Interesting to see the band as a 4 piece. When they opened for Maiden, they had recruited Laurie Mansworth on second guitar. He amounted to nothing...
hey samandjoesdad fuck off thats my dad your talking about He amounted to nothing, bollocks did he, he went on to form airrace and later was manager of rock band Roadstar so do go speading shit you know fuck all about
drummer8, no disrepect to your old man. i knew him quite well. but the facts are there for everyone to see. laurie got fired from More, formed a nothing band ( air race ) and went on to manage a band that my kids, similar in age to you, have never heard of, and they are all very much into the " music business ". sorry if you felt offended by my comment, but in reality it was based on truth.
obviously there is a difference of opinion here, but i am not going to go out of my way to prove someone wrong. the band were great, and i enjoyed my time working for them. OK, so your dad manages a band. does he know what the rest of them are up to? just curious, coz i don't, apart from paul of course. he's living in australia now, and still singing.
First saw MORE as openers at the Summer Nights Festival at Offenbach football stadium. 10am in the mornin g they came on stage looking wrecked and still pi**ed. They gave a great show considering the ungodly hour. They were on the bill with Maiden, Motorhead, Blackfoot, Kansas, BOC, Scorpions and Foreigner. Great day out!!! PS. Still got "We are the band" on 12" single somewhere in my garage......
Man this is amazing! This man is the first vocalist of Iron Maiden!

Didnt Paul Mario Day later play with Sweet??
jh7260 4 years ago
Yes. They recorded a live album at the Marquee club in London, which, with a little bit of hunting around, can be found. Just don't ask me where.
samandjoesdad 4 years ago
Many years ago my mate showed me a video of Sweet he didnt know the singer but it was Paul Mario Day dont know where he recorded it from????
jh7260 4 years ago
It was probably recorded in Australia. They did a lot of TV work while they toured there. Search for Sweet here on Youtube. Good luck.

Good song. Too bad they didn't last very long.
'Soldier' is another More song that kicks and they even did an awesome version of Arthur Brown's 'Fire'.

Paul Mario Day was only in Iron Maiden for a short time at the end of 1975 to early '76, followed by Den Wilcock - then in 1978 Dianno joined.
