if this was released in the 70s it would be 'commercially popular'. this style was everywhere 20-30 years ago, and will always remain to be popular as certain chord progressions just get re-used over and over through the decades.. it has the exact same chord progressions as isaac hays ike's rap II, (not to mention a bunch of others) which was later sampled by portishead in 1995. also very popular. reminds me of a mix of leonard cohen and isaac hays. not to say it isn't nice but its not original
