basically he talks about reincarnation. You get attach to form so you seek a form for your self. When you die, supposedly you want form, and since you lose your current form, you reincarnate into another form. The last half of the video or so reminds me greatly of a talk given by His Holiness The Dalai Lama that I attended a couple of years ago. It is very cool to hear seemingly unrelated people talking about the same ideas.

Then he does his best to answer and help the guy that seems to need a response, he mentions his experience on death to identification with form, which could be as close to dying you can get at a mental level. I have touched a little bit of this a couple of times while meditating and what you experience is what Tolle explains.
@am101171 And keeping distances Tolle´s experience of it should be much more deep and thourough than I could imagine or experienced so far, which is very little and short. The thing whith this experiences is that they can not explained, you have to try it yourself, this is why he says at some point that he gets a "sense" of what happens but that "we don´t need to talk about it" and he goes on to share what he can share as to help the people understand that either way "all is well".
I died for approximately 2 minutes and remember being awakened in the state of consciousness where I was at the time and knew God was there with me, as well.
I cannot agree with everything what Tolle says here: Death ist never a transformation from a form to a new form. It is allways the disappearance of a certain form into FORMLESSNESS. Never there is a rebirth of the form. Form comes, form goes, and new form comes out of NO-THING. No new form is connected with a previous form ever. Continuaty is only in the timeless PRESENCE of the FORMLESS in the form. Form dies completely, and a fresh and unic form can be born out of the deathlessness of LIFE.

This is good, but why doesn't Tolle while he is at it also throw into the mix the massive amount of evidence from near death experiences, out of body experiences, past life memories that are vindicated to be genuine and sundry paranormal phenomena in general. Why does everything when it comes to us having a soul or transcending death have to deal with a God in some form? What if death is truly the end and the end of consciousness and there really isn't nothing? We turn to God to comfort us, that in some way something is there for us after we die. Why can't we as human beings be fine and comfortable with our own mortality and that there is possibly nothing at all after death? Belief in that has brought me peace and understanding. - Just an opinion.

I never said we experience "nothing" I was merely stating that "why do we all turn to something such as religion or an afterlife to be there when pass?" Death could be the end and there is nothing at all, no god, no heaven, no afterlife, no thing, end of consciousness we simply die just as everything else and what we call life continues to flow flawlessly. But yes I do agree with you, you can not experience "nothing".

@ANewMomentum well here might be why what your saying may not be the case. take the many examples of medical patients that have clinically died and were pronounced dead etc. those patients have reported confirmed facts and events while they were dead that they absolutely could not have documented alive ie seeing their body from above recallin what the doctors did and said and then having that verified by the doctors. there are many doctors who speak of this just youtube near death experience lmk

We have intellectual capabilities beyond understanding and feelings to love and cherish everything around us. I feel as though we really undermime the gift of this human form. Carl Jung once said that if you "know" that death isn't the end, you will have a better psyche and feel better. It just has to do with a certain kind of thinking or attitude. This is helpful if you are open to it. Fear and pain are simply conditions of the body we occupy - survival mechanisms. When awareness transcends beyond the mental "noise" - fear subsides. In the past people were martyred for denying a dogma of fear - we are lucky to be in this age of freedom of ideas and great opportunities to move forward.

Then he does his best to answer and help the guy that seems to need a response, he mentions his experience on death to identification with form, which could be as close to dying you can get at a mental level. I have touched a little bit of this a couple of times while meditating and what you experience is what Tolle explains.

@am101171 And keeping distances Tolle´s experience of it should be much more deep and thourough than I could imagine or experienced so far, which is very little and short. The thing whith this experiences is that they can not explained, you have to try it yourself, this is why he says at some point that he gets a "sense" of what happens but that "we don´t need to talk about it" and he goes on to share what he can share as to help the people understand that either way "all is well".

I cannot agree with everything what Tolle says here: Death ist never a transformation from a form to a new form. It is allways the disappearance of a certain form into FORMLESSNESS. Never there is a rebirth of the form. Form comes, form goes, and new form comes out of NO-THING. No new form is connected with a previous form ever. Continuaty is only in the timeless PRESENCE of the FORMLESS in the form. Form dies completely, and a fresh and unic form can be born out of the deathlessness of LIFE.

Why does everything when it comes to us having a soul or transcending death have to deal with a God in some form? What if death is truly the end and the end of consciousness and there really isn't nothing? We turn to God to comfort us, that in some way something is there for us after we die. Why can't we as human beings be fine and comfortable with our own mortality and that there is possibly nothing at all after death? @ANewMomentum Because the human psyche doens't work that way, it always wants to look forward to something and have a "future". Carl Jung once said that if you "know" that death isn't the end, you will have a better psyche and feel better. It just has to do with a certain kind of thinking or attitude. No one knows for sure what happens after death, even you don't know it, maybe there comes something afterwards...

There is no such thing as 'infinite consciousness', it is merely new age appropriation of Hindu ideas.
In deep Jhanic meditation consciousness disappears, proving that it is a conditioned phenomena, (as the Buddha explained). When you remove the cause, the effect disappears...consciousness is no exception.

There is NO consciousness! Jesus clearly states that we must believe in Jesus and He is the WAY! Nobody enters heaven on its own, but ONLY through Jesus! He is the ONLY mediator.

@spa05akw why do you need to warn anyone? i have been a born again christian for many years of this life, and tolle has enlightend me much more than what the bible has done in 10 years, not to say im knocking the bible, how can you to tell anyone that death will come to them, ultimately its gods will what happens to evey individual entity( not to say that we are all seperate, as i know we are one). and btw i dont think anyone here is denying Jesus.

@spa05akw What Jesus was pointing to (The ONLY Way) was not to him self as a person but as consciousness. God and consciousness are one and the same and are inseparable. The only way to heaven is to realize that you are formless consciousness, and then the ego dies and you realize that this earth already is a paradise but you didn't know it cuz you didnt see it because of the ego.

This is helpful if you are open to it. Fear and pain are simply conditions of the body we occupy - survival mechanisms. When awareness transcends beyond the mental "noise" - fear subsides. Individual consciousness does not exist before birth, which will explain that there's not such a thing like "consciousness after life". The theory "life after death" is only an individual longing to live on forever based on belief, fiction or dreams thus not a fact.

@TheSjpatrik individual consciousness never existed. consciousness itself is not a thing or object. Therefore it doesn't have any kind of personal attribute. We're conditioned to believe that we are the body and that within the body is a separate, individual consciousness or self. If consciousness is not a thing and if the self is consciousness, it goes beyond the body even before the death of the body.
