THANK YOU for telling this guy----there is too many crazy SEOs.. period. Hard to find job these days with all the new SEOs--and their BS taking clients away from good digital marketing professionals..i've even seen a SEO report full of BS that sounds pro..and client buys it...
JAJAJA MATT you are really becoming a movie start. Each video you make your hosting skills improved. You have mature a lot and have created a brand around your name..lol (know you from old days...good job man). You're a pro TV host now....coffee..nice touch. LOL...
does it make a difference if a domain has been purchased at one year at a time apposed to 5 years at a time. One so called seo expert said search engines like domains that have been purchased for longer lengths of time.
@gcuffe old domains generally = good domains and serious web owners do tend to buy longer leases, so it's not an absurd statement, but I strongly doubt that gg would use just that one small, inconclusive factor to determine if a site was suspect.
But then i just make everything up as i go along, so i really should go to bed now.
Are domains older than 2 years ranked better in search results? Because that makes a little sense if you think about it. Is this true or false?
I had a site that was a week old and appeared #1 google.gr result in some queries and the pagerank was "Unknown 0". I had beaten some sites with pagerank 2-3 only using white hat techniques. The site was highly speed optimized and it had valid XHML/CSS.
You are my faithful myth-busting machine. Thank you.
Disclaimer: I am not the originator of this idea. I met an SEO guy a few months ago who swore that his personal domain was better than mine because it was originally registered in 2003, which means he was "grandfathered in" in some certain way for some super-special PageRank.
When I said that wasn't possible, he told me to prove it... which I couldn't do, until just now. Now I have the ammo I need.
Dear Matt - I just don't know how you do it unless there is fun stuff in that coffee cup. I like the hair by the way. I must admit I like working with companies whose domains have been around for a long time so that many, many people/sites have already 'talked' about them on the web (I hate the term linked-to or backlinks). Cheers.
Have you heard that domains that have an md5 hash value that starts with 'd' actually accumulate page rank really easily too?! Or what about domains purchased while standing on your head?
he talks very well.
