Expertvillage would be much more useful if their videos were longer than a minute and they were numbered in step order. Otherwise it's a complete joke.
You don't need to remove the rotor to inspect both sides. Simply look at the side through the dust shield cutout while turning the rotor through a full turn.
@rydesolow it has nothing to do with a thermal bond. wth r u talking about? its about friction. grease acts a lot liek oil. and you dont want oil on a surface that has to have high friction with something else.
you dont need to mark the damn wheel stud and the rotor... you can put it in any damn position you want as long as its facing the right direction.... friggin idiot
OK...step 8 step 12 step 15....where the hell is step 1? even if these people know what they are doing with cars....they sure know nothing on making and uplpoading videos.
I can inspect brakes by driving the car around the block
pulsating = warped rotors
screeching shims = worn out pads
grinding = rotors & pads are fucked
sticking or seizing = bad calipers
similar applies to drums

It would be nice and very helpful if video's were marked with p1, p2, p3 and sofort,
certainly would prevent trying to find s needle in a haystack.

Why are some people here so combative? Can we just give each other some amount of consideration? Miserable people!

why would you need to mark the rotor ??
i changed/inspected hundreds and never had to mark were it was at.

@SubaruXT6 same here, i bet he marks the skins as he removes it from corpses to make sure it lines up too

greasy fingerprints need to be cleaned off. the pads will not thermally bond with the rotor correctly if not cleaned.
