I started watching baseball when i was about 12 i was flipping through the channels and seen bagwells weird stance and bam hits it to the speakers but foul them bam homerun i was like fuk this nigga is a beast
I hope Bagwell doesn't continue to get shafted by the HOF for the steroid era. His name has never even been whispered along with PED's. It would be cool if he and Biggio are inducted together the same year. Im not an Astros fan, but they've got two slam dunk hall of famers right there.
I remember back in 05 I was actually at game 3 of the Stros VS Cards NLCS it was awsome I have fond memories of those days. Those were the glory days of the stros.
bagwell, bigio, berkman, pettit, clemens, pence, oswalt.......amazing team. to bad 2 of em r trators, two retired, and two got crappy. pence i think though is going to be a huge player just like bigio. as long as he sticks with the stros he is my role moddle. my number and everything
JEFF BAGWELL & CRAIG BIGGIO might have been on steriods (WHICH I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY WERE), but even if they were SO WHAT. No one has found them guilty or found any dirt on them so they're both innocent. If by the time they both get to the HOF & the MLB still hasn't found any dirt from either player, then they were both some of the best to players to ever play game. Come on, we know that both of these guys were original on & of the field. So therefore, they'll both definately be in the HOF soon.
I hope he wasnt... I really do, but wouldnt be surprised(Clemens,Petitte,A-rod,Manny,Sosa,etc). He played hard everyday, Im glad to have seen him play. he will be a 2nd year ballot HOFer and go in with BIggio. It has to be that way.
@ddenuci Ive heard that story before. But its seems more of a "Six dergees of Kevin Bacon" type deal. He never came across Big Mac or Canseco. Never hit over 50 HR in a season. Physically he looked the same most of his career. And Canseco name most on the report. Bags & BGO weren't named. I grew up in Houston but loved the A's, Big Mac,Canseco,Eck,Rickey, Stewart, etc.
I wore #33 cuz of Canseco. Then I heard stories and was heartbroken. But around that time some rookie named Bagwell showed up.
Never proven, and if he were, he would have recovered from his injuy and kept playing. How did Petitte get over the same problem Bags had? 'Roids. I love how everyone in baseball is guilty until proven innocent.
the best 2 men 2 ever wear an astros jersey. bgo and baggs. biggios a first ballot hall of famer, bagwell will make but the injuries wont make him a first ballot though, i would luv to see him go though.
I get to meet him tomorrow at work!FUCK YEAH!!!...he's my idol...gonna get my jersey signed and an authentic field ball...cant wait til he gets inducted into the HOF!!!

interesting bags is all worshipped, yet did anyone notice the year after all the steroids hoopla and caminiti's death , our man lost a shitload of weight, most of his musculature and became injury prone. Steroids? why not investigate? His answer when asked about the drastic body change.. er... nothing. Why's bonfds villified and bags worshiped?can you say skin color
I'm amazed at how under rated by the the rest of the MLB Jeff was, he hit Monster home runs, and put up huge numbers playing the expansive first home of the Astros; "THE DOME". On any other team, in any other park he would have been even more dominate in his day. I miss Jeff, he more so than Craig was the Iconic figure the Astros looked to for leadership.
He will always be underrated, but most class acts are. He was so much more than a home run hitter, it is too bad the average fan will never understand that.
Even if he could squeeze out 51 more dingers in the AL (as a DH)to reach 500, I doubt he would. It would be a cheap way to reach a milestone that he probably was not overly concerned with. Class act. MLB needs more Ripkens, Ryans, Biggios, and BAGWELLS!
