i use this on my face and noticed that my cuticles are not dry anymore. they used to be so dry and actually crack and bleed. that does not happen when i am using argan oil. also have noticed that my freckles and sunspots are disappearing. my nails grow very fast as well when I am using it.
Wow, I've been using argan oil for quite some time now because I accidentially discovered that it's brilliant for my skin (I ran out of olive oil for my cuticles one day and the rest is history ^^) but I'm very glad I found your very informative video!

I like that you researched about the oil. I keep wanting to try it but i was so worried that they were cutting down and destroying this already endangered species of tree lol
You mentioned that you could cook with argan oil. Although you can eat argan oil (on a salade for example). Its not for cooking. You can only serve it cold. You should never cook with argan oil or heat it up. But ofcourse the josie maran and eden allure products are pure cosmetic.
@Sweetwater0909 I don't recall saying one could heat up the oil, only that it can be used in cooking, which doesn't necessarily suggest heat. I'm not an expert and can only go by the information available to me.
@pinkiecharm Your review was very informative. I just wanted to make sure people knew its not an oil you can heat up. Like olive oil or coconut oil. But can be eaten. Especially for people like me who associate the word cooking with heat. (english isnt my native language)
@Sweetwater0909 Thank you. Sometimes it's difficult to remember that there are a lot of people who watch my videos whose first language isn't English. I'll try to be better about that in the future. :)
@HauteBeautyGirl I have read here and there about argan oil helping with KP but I haven't tried it on myself so I can't say for sure. It might be something worth researching a little more.
Really? It helps with pain? I was almost ready to send it back before that. Will definitely give it a try. It doesn't seem to do much for my face, but make the dark circles show up under my eyes. Do you know how long it takes to see a difference in your skin? I have good skin, but wasn't sure if I paid 100.00 for hype (4oz bottle and the Josie name after reading the wiki version of argan oil. I appreciate your reviews so much! Thank You! xo
Why is yours clear? Mine is amber. I think Eden might be refined, not raw. Also, it should NOT be in a clear plastic bottle. Google for more info. But yeah, argan oil is great :)
@gladitsnotme It isn't clear and it is refined. According to Eden Allure it's refined to "eliminate potential hazardous elements that may be found in raw argan oil." The container is plastic but it's environmentally safe, UV protected and recyclable.
I just found your channel a few days ago. I've been watching a few vids every day and I feel like I'm getting to know you. Thanks for all the tips and reviews.
Irene, Josie Maran Argan Oil is not supposed to be too strong or too much for your face or hair to handle. The reasons why it is like that for you is because you didn't use it with water. For hair, when you get out of the shower, take about 3-5 drops, when it's still damp. As for face, wet it completely, add 2 drops on your hand, rub your hands together and then massage all over your face for about 30 seconds. Leave it wet and air dry. Each week, gradually add an extra drop.
@RAWRRxrain I appreciate the tips but I have to disagree. I don't see any reason why this product shouldn't be too much oil for my skin. Everyone's skin is different and there was no mention of using this product with water. However, I'll try it out and see what happens. Thanks. :)
@pinkiecharm It understand it wasnt stated on the box or online, but it's best to use it with water. My friend recommended it to me and taught me how she uses it. When i first used the oil, i use at least 5 drops to massage my face dry but it got too oily for me and it broke me out even more - thats when she told me to use it with water. And yeah, no problem (:
Awesome! I used Eden Allure's oil on my hair. Only ONE pump on the ends of my hair, just to protect them from dryness, and it was perfect for me. However, I have dry curly hair, so it worked for me. I don't recommend it for straight, of fine hair. XD Anyway, I'm glad there are no differences in the brands, I'll keep on using Eden Allure's. :)
I live in Canada and bought the live clean exotic nectar argan oil for 12 dollars and its 3.7 fluid ounces :) I'm excited to try this ! Thanks Irene:)
I so agree with you about the nose area getting dry. Mine always turn really dry looking. I heard about this Argan Oil on hair.. Now I am so excited to know it works for my dry nose area..lol Good Video....
FYI: You have 2a Type hair you never use oil on your hair type. B/c it makes it really Greasy & Stiff looking!
I've bought lots of natural oils and skincare products from Garden of Wisdom in the past. They have organic argan oil for cheap... I'm definitely gonna try it from them :)
i have tried argan oil, bought it off sephora at dadeland mall in miami from Jossie. This stuff is really good. I was hesitant to try this oil on my face since i live in miami and i do have a greasy t-zone. Well argan oil just gives me a natural glow of course one drop is more than enough. This stuff lasts a very very long time if dispensed correctly. i recomment this to guys and girls everywhere.
Can you tell the difference between real argan oil and synthetic argan oil? I am thinking about buying this 8 oz bottle of it I found online but I am not sure if it is pure argan oil.
@adowns87 The site should specify one way or the other and if not, there may be a contact email listed somewhere on the site with which you can use to contact them and ask.
@adowns87 Watch my latest video which is a Review video about The Nourish Argan Oil. From all the argan oils I've used this one is the one I love the most because it makes my hair shiny
I just ordered some argan oil and it came in the mail and right away I put some on my face and a little later my face got really red. I don't know if my hands were dirty (although I had washed them less than 15 minutes prior) or something but I guess i'm willing to try it again another day as long as I don't break out massively tomorrow =(
Argan Oil is great stuff! I learned about it when I was in Morocco about 12 years ago. The argan trees grow in very dry surrounings and are low bushy and prickely. (I don't know if that's an English word) Very funny to see that the goats there klimb into the trees to eat the leafs. Now if you see how argan oil is made, you understand why it is so expensive. In Morocco the oil is expensive to. But I suggest using the oil that is sold for cooking. It's a little less expensive and no different.
SO out of curiosity- how much do you budget for makeup expenses a month? I have become obsessed and realized that this is obsession is burning up my fun expense LOL
I have the stick version of Josie Maran's argan oil, I use it on my lips (because they get really dry and chapped) and under glosses to help them go on smoother. It works wonders, better than most lip butters and carmex (and it smells nice!). Have you tried products with olive oil for your hair? I find that works well and I have baby fine hair.
I love this review. I would love to buy the oil. So far, I cannot afford to buy the Argan oil, I have been using Vitamin E oil from Trader Joe's. It works wonders! I use my Vitamin oil for my cuticles and heels (just like you) and sometimes the split end of my hair.
TheBeautyofVanity: you are absolutely right about arnica. If you can Irene, try arnica - it does wonders. My mom has a pain relieving oil from an aromatherapist (arnica, comfrey, lavender essential oil, birch e.o.). That oil has worked so well for her. She's had 2 surgeries in the last 2 years, and she used the oil with great success - bruises fade quickly, scars heal well. Now she uses the oil for everyday aches & pains & for her arthritis.
I just wanted to say how much I like that you actually research this stuff. It's a) awesome to learn this stuff, I'd never known what it was and b) it's so intersting!
@MsLc1234 Oh yes, I know but a deodorizer isn't a perfume, which is why I was confused by your comment. :) I'm rather glad they use it as the nutty scent can be a bit too strong for me.
@MsLc1234 That's so odd as neither of the bottles I have are perfumed. The only ingredient listed on my bottle of argan oil is Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (Moroccan Argan Oil).
pinkiecharm: squalene is an intense moisturizing component found in sharks as well as olives, and apparently also argan oil. I have never heard any company claiming that their squalene product prevented cancer.
@whatthedeuce87 There was no company who claimed using this product could prevent cancer. That's just something I came across in my research of argan oil in general. And if anyone's using this product in the hopes it will prevent cancer, that's only slightly naive, isn't it? :)
the tone of my comment was a little different than i intended. i just don't know who was writing the information you found because it seemed silly and i had definitely never heard that before. i just heard that squalene was supposed to be like the ultimate moisturizer.
of course i can tell you are a smart person and we both know that whole cancer thing is silly.. of course at this time pretty much everyone talks about "cancer this, cancer that"
@whatthedeuce87 I didn't notice anything wrong with the tone of your comment. The tone of text is really up to the person reading it. :)
I think a lot of people are so overly concerned with trying to prevent cancer that they sometimes forget that the products that claim to "help" aren't 100%. And also that cancer is a disease and not as easily prevented as the common cold.
@mineralmu4me omega 6 is an ESSENTIAL fatty acid, one from fish and flax seeds, not a fat you get out of a McDonalds burger. Besides, to say Americans have to much of anything in their diets is primarily ignorant.
The irony of you accusing people of being ignorant yet you use the wrong "there" and barely capitalise your sentences (and proper nouns!) is fabulous. Although Omega 6 actually isn't all that good for you, using proclaimed ignorance as an attack doesn't work so well when you don't bother to use proper grammar yourself.
I found that wen I mix a tiny bit of the argan oil with my moisturizer in my hand b4 putting it on my face it doesnt look as oily. just feels like a reg moisturizer. nd u can use less then what u would use by itself and mixing with the moisturizer helps to distribute it on ur face.
hi. i too have the josie m. broning oil. I agree that it is too heavy for hair. I like Moroccan oil better. The bronzing oil is nice in the summer, if you are tan b/c it looks kind of like self tanner.
I'm glad you went over uses b/c i was not aware of some. I am going to use it on my face right near my nose too. Too much nose blowing.
i have been using the Eden alure Argan oil since august and let me tell you it is great...i have been using the oil on my nails and they have not chipped since august 09. a little goes a long way. im not even half way through the bottle. totally recommend it.
You'd make a great teacher, lol. When you described where argan oil is from, it didn't bore me like a lot of technical explanations do, but you just made it so clear.
I use argan oil as a night-time serum before moisturizing. I warm about 3 drops between my palms then press and massage it into my face. It definitely helps my reactive, combination skin. LOVE!
The pattern of dryness you describe suggests it might be seborrheic dermatitis. Have you tried an antifungal cream such as miconazole? I dont know any tradenames, but it might be worth a go!
so I guess Eden Allure is the better deal because you get more product for the money! I am so buying this! Are there any noticeable differences between the two products? Do you know why the Josie Maran one might be more expensive?
I love using Argan oil as a facial moisturizer. I agree with you that it was too much for my hair and I for some reason love the smell of it. The Garden of Wisdom website sells 1 oz. of 100% Organic argan oil for $8 plus shipping so that's an amazing deal (it works exactly the same as the Josie Maran b/c I've used both).
I have Argan-oil, too and I agree with you that it makes a very soft skin. But after I'd used it a few times I now unfortunately cannot use it any more, because I find it smells so AWFUL!!
I bought it at the beginning of my pregnancy and maybe it depends a little bit on the hormons, that I get sick when I smell this oil. :-( But my friends, who are all not pregnant, find the smell awful, too.
Maybe I can try it again later on my legs or feet, where I do not smell it so much.
This was a very helpful and informative review! I've been thinking about buying this stuff for a long time, but was hesitant becuase of the price. I think I'll buy the eden after I get through some of my stock of other products LOL Thank you so much!
Ever try "bag balm" on your face problem? How different than olive oil is it? Have you tried arnica gel on your knee? That oil sounds dangerously addictive..lol. Very nice tip about it being a pain relief helper. I did not know that. Thanks for the review!☺
I have the Josie Maran Argan stick and love it. It fixes everything. I can use it on dry skin patches, nails, hair flyaways/static, and it even gets rid of redness on my cheeks. Now I want to try one of the little glass vials they have at Sephora to compare. It's the best oil for skin that I've found.
can you do a comparison video of oils? i'm very very young and i want absolute perfect skin. i know it sounds childish, but hey who doesnt even if they are thirteen. I have used sweet almond oil from aura cacia ( not sure on the name ) and i think i should try out jojoba oil from desert essence? or should i go for the argon oil? thanks
so the only difference between the two is the packaging and tha one is organic or does the organic one work better as well? i see that the one with more product in it is actually cheaper an in the non glass packaging
@MegDragonfly13 I didn't come across any specific mentions of eczema so I don't want to say this will 100% work. However skin conditions similar to eczema are helped by Argan Oil so it may work.
Did you know that Sally's Beauty Supply is selling a 3.4 fl oz bottle of Argan Oil for $8.99? Now I don't know how great the quality stands up compared to the two that you have, but it smells wonderful and has really helped my moisturize my hair.
@brushjunkie The huge demand for the export of the oil is what's helping conserve the trees, although I know that sounds a bit backwards. The trees aren't cut down in order to get the oil and it's the demand OF the oil that's producing the funds to protect the trees. Did that make sense? *lol*
i use this on my face and noticed that my cuticles are not dry anymore. they used to be so dry and actually crack and bleed. that does not happen when i am using argan oil. also have noticed that my freckles and sunspots are disappearing. my nails grow very fast as well when I am using it.

@whatthedeuce87 There was no company who claimed using this product could prevent cancer. That's just something I came across in my research of argan oil in general. And if anyone's using this product in the hopes it will prevent cancer, that's only slightly naive, isn't it? :)
pinkiecharm 2 years ago
the tone of my comment was a little different than i intended. i just don't know who was writing the information you found because it seemed silly and i had definitely never heard that before. i just heard that squalene was supposed to be like the ultimate moisturizer.
of course i can tell you are a smart person and we both know that whole cancer thing is silly.. of course at this time pretty much everyone talks about "cancer this, cancer that"
whatthedeuce87 2 years ago
@whatthedeuce87 I didn't notice anything wrong with the tone of your comment. The tone of text is really up to the person reading it. :)
I think a lot of people are so overly concerned with trying to prevent cancer that they sometimes forget that the products that claim to "help" aren't 100%. And also that cancer is a disease and not as easily prevented as the common cold.

Americans have way too much Omega 6 in their diets, they don't need it any additional ways.
mineralmu4me 2 years ago
@mineralmu4me omega 6 is an ESSENTIAL fatty acid, one from fish and flax seeds, not a fat you get out of a McDonalds burger. Besides, to say Americans have to much of anything in their diets is primarily ignorant.
nicolcacola 2 years ago
uh, no it's not, monega 3 is needed, americans DO have too much omega 6 in there diets.
there is a specific ratio of 3 to 6 that is needed, that is above your head by this comment.
If YOU don't want to sound ignorant, do your research before opening your mouth.
mineralmu4me 2 years ago
The irony of you accusing people of being ignorant yet you use the wrong "there" and barely capitalise your sentences (and proper nouns!) is fabulous. Although Omega 6 actually isn't all that good for you, using proclaimed ignorance as an attack doesn't work so well when you don't bother to use proper grammar yourself.

Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil is really good too.

Too much nose blowing.

i have been using the Eden alure Argan oil since august and let me tell you it is great...i have been using the oil on my nails and they have not chipped since august 09. a little goes a long way. im not even half way through the bottle. totally recommend it.

could you maybe do a review on:
gosh lets twist eyeliner??
if you can?
erinseashore1996 2 years ago
You'd make a great teacher, lol. When you described where argan oil is from, it didn't bore me like a lot of technical explanations do, but you just made it so clear.
Oh, and nice makeup. :)

Your makeup really looks good in this video.

I use argan oil as a night-time serum before moisturizing. I warm about 3 drops between my palms then press and massage it into my face. It definitely helps my reactive, combination skin. LOVE!

@mooneyes89 it just means essential fatty acids. I dont know why they refer to these as "vitamin F"

The pattern of dryness you describe suggests it might be seborrheic dermatitis. Have you tried an antifungal cream such as miconazole? I dont know any tradenames, but it might be worth a go!
TheSukiebapswent 2 years ago
so I guess Eden Allure is the better deal because you get more product for the money! I am so buying this! Are there any noticeable differences between the two products? Do you know why the Josie Maran one might be more expensive?

i love your makeup here!

I love using Argan oil as a facial moisturizer. I agree with you that it was too much for my hair and I for some reason love the smell of it. The Garden of Wisdom website sells 1 oz. of 100% Organic argan oil for $8 plus shipping so that's an amazing deal (it works exactly the same as the Josie Maran b/c I've used both).
kcurb14 2 years ago
I have Argan-oil, too and I agree with you that it makes a very soft skin. But after I'd used it a few times I now unfortunately cannot use it any more, because I find it smells so AWFUL!!
I bought it at the beginning of my pregnancy and maybe it depends a little bit on the hormons, that I get sick when I smell this oil. :-( But my friends, who are all not pregnant, find the smell awful, too.
Maybe I can try it again later on my legs or feet, where I do not smell it so much.
carpediem774 2 years ago
This was a very helpful and informative review! I've been thinking about buying this stuff for a long time, but was hesitant becuase of the price. I think I'll buy the eden after I get through some of my stock of other products LOL Thank you so much!

I was wondering if you prefer one more than the other?
watermelon165 2 years ago
@watermelon165 I prefer them about the same but I do like the packaging of the Eden Allure oil as it makes for less mess in application.
pinkiecharm 2 years ago
Ever try "bag balm" on your face problem? How different than olive oil is it? Have you tried arnica gel on your knee? That oil sounds dangerously addictive..lol. Very nice tip about it being a pain relief helper. I did not know that. Thanks for the review!☺

I will be going to get this thanks for the explination of what this is and the review!

you look so pretty in this video! New lighting?

@MsLc1234 There is no perfume in these oils. The only scent is the natural scent of the oil itself.

argon oil is da bomb
shopalotmary 2 years ago
I have the Josie Maran Argan stick and love it. It fixes everything. I can use it on dry skin patches, nails, hair flyaways/static, and it even gets rid of redness on my cheeks. Now I want to try one of the little glass vials they have at Sephora to compare. It's the best oil for skin that I've found.
staciarose20 2 years ago
Very cool! I'm definitely going to try this! I dislocated my knee too, it's horrible. People don't understand the pain that causes.

can you do a comparison video of oils? i'm very very young and i want absolute perfect skin. i know it sounds childish, but hey who doesnt even if they are thirteen. I have used sweet almond oil from aura cacia ( not sure on the name ) and i think i should try out jojoba oil from desert essence? or should i go for the argon oil? thanks
anneh08 2 years ago
so the only difference between the two is the packaging and tha one is organic or does the organic one work better as well? i see that the one with more product in it is actually cheaper an in the non glass packaging
chicklebird 2 years ago
@chicklebird I found that they both worked the same for me.

Hi pinkiecharm, I was just wondering if there's any visible difference between the two products you mentioned. Is there one u prefer over the other?
vickyhsieh222 2 years ago
@vickyhsieh222 I found that they both work the same for me but I prefer the Eden Allure's dispenser as it's much less messy.
pinkiecharm 2 years ago
When you said it could help psoriasis, did it also happen to mention eczema?
MegDragonfly13 2 years ago
@MegDragonfly13 I didn't come across any specific mentions of eczema so I don't want to say this will 100% work. However skin conditions similar to eczema are helped by Argan Oil so it may work.
pinkiecharm 2 years ago
Did you know that Sally's Beauty Supply is selling a 3.4 fl oz bottle of Argan Oil for $8.99? Now I don't know how great the quality stands up compared to the two that you have, but it smells wonderful and has really helped my moisturize my hair.
forever0211 2 years ago
@forever0211 : $8.99! WOAH thanks fro the tip! ☼
TheBeautyofVanity 2 years ago
@forever0211 To be honest, I don't know. If it's 100% real Argan Oil (and I'd double-check the ingredients to be sure) than it's a great deal.

I hate to say it, but if it's an endangered tree, then why are they using it to make beauty products??
brushjunkie 2 years ago
@brushjunkie The huge demand for the export of the oil is what's helping conserve the trees, although I know that sounds a bit backwards. The trees aren't cut down in order to get the oil and it's the demand OF the oil that's producing the funds to protect the trees. Did that make sense? *lol*
pinkiecharm 2 years ago
Makes perfect sense! Thank you for the clarification :) & thanks for your reviews, I have found them very helpful & informative.
