Why aren't I as good as that!? How often you practise and have you got any tips (I've never had a lesson and am at the stage where I can handle most old skool Metallica songs - not including the solos :))?

sweet my man! Metallica was one of my first influences, esp Master of Puppets and Justice... for a while i was good on the rhythm's but sloppy on the solos too. ;) i didn't do lessons either, but you'll be fine if you always remember to continue sharpening your ear as well as your chops and it'll come together. don't settle for slop. practice till you get it right and commit everything to memory! best of luck! let me know when you post something ;)

hmmm not that i'm aware of, but quite possibly. i listened to a lot of different stuff including some malmsteen back in the day and may have picked it up by accident. it should be my stuff, hendrix, more my stuff, bach, then the very end. the bach part is called fugue
