Larry Merchant has an obviouse agenda. You see it in his baised dealings with certain fighters often based on their ethnicity. He is supposed to be a commentator but he is obviously against certain fighters and for others. I guess there are many people that are willing to pretend about this.

Lewis was one of the laziest fighters, and that's coming from his trainer not me. He was not the good of a champion, any time he got caught, he went down. Paper champ is what some would call him,but I would take him, Tyson, holyfield, bowe and others over what we have now in the heavyweight division now that's for sure.
When i seen this live, I was afraid for Lewis because Vitali was landing some damaging punches. Just like the Byrd fight, the winner by scorecards & our eyes was Vitali.

Lewis had like a month to prepare for the fight, but still he chose to fight knowing that his champion title was on the line. Lewis would have made a hole big enough to make vatali's eye to pop out. It's a shame that Vitali was accusing him of headbutting.

This is 1 of those interviews that Lennox Lewis must look back on & say 2 himself " I could have handled that better ". Klitschko was clearly dissecting him round after round with a disciplined style & approach, of course Lennox had the power 2 turn things around any time but the cut ruined a great contest.
Lennox made a very valid point. I don't care what anyone says; that CUT WAS HORRIFIC. Why risk this man's vision just to see a fight go on. He kept getting hit in that cut over and over again. Lennox was ripping him apart with those big uppercuts. It was a smart move on the part of the doctors to stop it when it did. Vitali fought galantly in that fight but he was done. Lennox was diminished as a fighter; he simply came in in bad physical shape and I believe he lost his desire to train!!!

At the end of the day, the interview is telling of Lennox. He knows he was losing the fight, that's why he put on all the bravado with Larry and disrespects Vitali's effort. "Look what I did to his face". If he was truly winning the fight, he would have been much more humble and respectful but deep down he knows he was losing, and that's why he went into retirement because he knew Vitali was a danger to his legacy and didn't want to fight him again.
Lewis didn't even train for this fight you could understand it judjing on his movements, and even in this condition he nearly knocked Klitschko out (uppercut), think of what he would do if he was in condition like he was in Tyson's fight. So for all Klitschko fans I do respect both brothers a lot as a persons, and for their achivements in life, by lets be honest they are not great boxers and you can't compare them with such names as Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield
Lenox Lewis was a mediocre champ at best, Tyson in his prime would of killed him as would of Holyfield, Lewis beat these old guys up, and as far as the Klitschkos they both have gotten better but they're also mediocre fighters. He got Knocked out by Rhaman and McCall another pair of bums.

Lennox won on a technicality not because he was the more skilled boxer. Fights stopped from KOs and cuts are completely different so your analogy is piss poor.

Boxing history is littered with guys who go from one thing to another in 1 fight.
at the end of the sixth Lewis could barely stand up he was so tired. Even his biggest fan Jim Lampley said he could barely stand on his own. Lewis didn't even train for this fight you could understand it judjing on his movements, and even in this condition he nearly knocked Klitschko out (uppercut), think of what he would do if he was in condition like he was in Tyson's fight. He proved his doubters wrong. But he was legitimately beaten! Lennox tore him up, Vitali had to have 60 stitches in all for the wounds he suffered. Vitali won the first three rounds, the 4th was closer. Lennox took the last two rounds, Re-watch the footage.

The Doctor stopped the fight not Lennox. Keep swinging on Lennox's nuts though. And the young Lennox still got stopped by Oliver McCall, by no means a great heavyweight. Put young Lennox in with Tyson in 1988, he would get slaughtered no question.

Alot of fighters fight on with cuts, however this doc decided it was impairing his vision and was too dangerous for him to fight on, I have seen guys with eyes nearly closed up being allowed to fight on. Lennox won on a technicality not because he was the more skilled boxer. Fights stopped from KOs and cuts are completely different so your analogy is piss poor.

If Klitschko got a freak injury a la the Byrd fight and pulled out, you could say Lewis won on a technicality. If a boxer is beaten BECAUSE OF THE EFFECT OF PUNCHES then he lost fair and square. It may not be satisfactory, but it's completely legit. If Klitschko hadn't been hit hard enough/often enough to get cut, he wouldn't get cut!

You could be dominating a fight, moreso than Vitali was, get a cut which a Doctor could rule is impeding your vision and have the fight stopped. Rahman was a complete bum and got lucky with one shot. In this last fight he was visibly slower than any previous fight, bordering on lethargic. His footwork was bad and he looked flat. Boxing history is littered with guys who go from one thing to another in 1 fight.
