I just bought Cubase 5 studio and Saffire PrO 14....I can't get anything to work. Maybe this tutorial will help....otherwise I'll have to go back to using Audacity free software which isn't that good.
Does this all work well with Windows 7 Pro 64bit, drivers and all? Also Will this work well with my (50 track+) cubase mixes monitoring on 2 Quested S8r's, 2 passive missions and a pair of Sienheisser phones? PLEASE REPLY AS I NEED TO BUY ASAP
why are you recording in stereo. shudnt your inputs be mono and only your outputs stereo? also do you need to set up the mixing software that comes with the device. or can you just do everything in cubase without the need to set up a whole bunch of stuff in the seperate mixer window?
@xXKRoweXx If you set up VST connections with stereo input busses it's possible to select either mono or stereo input as shown in the video. Usually mix control settings allow you to hear output via default however the video shows you the simple steps needed to ensure the settings are correct.
After choosing Saffire ASIO driver I get lags with my mouse and keyboard in Cubase 5 only. Everything is fine right in the same moment when I not in Cubase window in my Windows 7 (32 bit).
I have Toshiba L300 1AM notebook, recommended by Focusrite support Belkin F5U506 FireWire ExpressCard controller. What can it be? It makes me crazy! Please help!
i have a pair of ESI monitors. Each monitor has one TRS and 1 XLR inputs. What types of cables should I use to connect the Saffire to my monitors? I guess I can use jack to jack cables and it doesn't make a difference whether they are mono or stereo? and how about using TRS to XLR cables ?
@nicoh81 Since it's best to used balanced connections between the interface and monitors, you should either use a TRS to XLR cable or a TRS (stereo) jack cable. A TS (mono) jack cable should be avoided.

ok done every you said but when chooseing which stereo in i want there is no tab which lets me select left of right for example iwant to record vocals and a guitar on seperate tracks ino that my microphone is stereo in 1 -left and my guitar is stereo in 1 -right well i cant choose the left or right just stereo in 1-8 help me please!!!!!
This would be because you are using a stereo audio track. When you create a new audio track, select "mono" and you will then be able to select the separate parts of the stereo pair.
Thats all well and good but WHEN are you gonna get a clue and put the input jacks on the FRONT of all the rackmount components. You have NO IDEA what a hassle it is to mess around the back when you're a working musician who uses XLR cables in live situations regularly.
inputs and out puts for cubase when using saffire 56 ?
