Buying from your local store and getting everyday items would help you fly under the radar a lot easier than buying mre's online. If you buy your stuff with cash and not online, there is no trail that you are stocking up. I just purchase additional items along with my regular groceries and it is not evident from my shopping as to what I am doing.
Except for the can of Spam, all of those foods can be found at the 99only Stores. The packets of Spam, tuna and chicken are 99 cents each and the Ramen noodles are 6 for 99 cents.
See U-line*com for 6-mil x 8" x 1,000 feet poly tubing and a heat sealer. No need to vacuum pack, but if you can get medical-grade gaseous nitrogen ($100 / cyl), then flush bag to remove O2 before sealing. A group effort lowers costs.
Re-package apple pie/cherry filling. mmmmm
Don't strike the ferro-steel.
Hold the ferro-steel down on your tinder, put the striker to the top end and pull the ferro-steel out creating sparks on the tinder.
They are selling these ziploc vaccum sealing bags with pump in Walmart. I might not trust them for long term, survive the future storage, but I'm sure they would take the rattle out of the bag.
Get Tila Food Saver or look into a heat sealer at U-Line. Buy the 6-mil poly tubing 8 inches wide by 1,000 feet. If you can , then buy a tank of oil-free nitrogen to flush the bags with before sealing.
Pretty much any foods on the shelves at your market (cookies, pop-tarts, cereals, nuts, beans, candies, crackers, etc.) can go in your MREs.
By customizing your MREs you control the menu and the moral of your group.
You can also vacuum pack , extra socks, underwear, sweaters, survival kits.
Nice, glad to see that you were able to use the idea! I have found several more items that can be used the same way. Maybe it deserves an update video in the future... Thanks for the shout out! Take Care.
Rice and Top Ramen? Not really MRE food. You have to have a pot plus water to cook both. An MRE should have everything you need in the main pouch itself. MRE FAIL!
Never get the light version of spam or any kind of meal, in the feild you need the fat, romen would be good because your body need salt. For the firesteel, I would go with the rectangle magnesium sticks, becaust they are a lot eayser to use. I also have the army light my fire, and with out charcloth I have a hard time starting a fire, I ccan start a fire with the Mg stick almost everytime.
the chunk tuna package is kinda disturbing, why would a tuna happily present the meat of his butchered fellows? lol

They are selling these ziploc vaccum sealing bags with pump in Walmart. I might not trust them for long term, survive the future storage, but I'm sure they would take the rattle out of the bag.
