  • Now we know why the progressives call Sen. Dr. Tom Coburn, Dr NO! They said HIS name name 5 times on trying to suspend the amendment, end the earmarks for it and overuled him on trying to debate it. Of course he's from Oklahoma one of the most conservative states in the US.

  • I think all that crap is meant to sound like that so we don't watch. Sounded like a bunch of jibberish or a horse racing announcer.

  • Why would you wave the reading of the names of the 17 sponsors. lets post that information

  • I got this when I clicked on the second link: Search results in THOMAS are temporary and are deleted 30 minutes after creation. Please try your search again.

Also, I read the bill. I guess I am not understanding what you are trying to point out. "Goodbye victory garden" ... does it say we will need a permit or inspection to grow a garden somewhere? If it does, I must have missed it.

Can you clarify what you mean and what we are calling our senators about?

  • @Carrie3570 If you read the entire bill and still don't understand the danger posed, I'm not sure I can assist you there.

Just in browsing over the corrections I found this in regard to administrative detention of food ...

    (a) In General- Section 304(h)(1)(A) (21 U.S.C. 334(h)(1)(A)) is amended by--

    (1) striking `credible evidence or information indicating' and inserting `reason to believe'; and ...

    Oh that sounds perfectly reasonable...

  • @rachelabombdotcom I don't agree with the bill at all, don't get me wrong. I was just having trouble relating it to a personal garden and calling my senator.

  • @Carrie3570 my understanding is the language is so that it could potentially reach right into your backyard. :( I haven't gone through it but others have whom I trust. Do You like the way Sebilius has acted thus far? Think Flu 2009... She's practically controlling the country byt the neck between health care and the food supply. Something is very wrong there. Just my take

  • @rachelabombdotcom Sebilius is a joke! It's very wrong. I think we all should be able to grow what we want to grow, eat what we want to eat, and give away what we don't want to whoever wants it. Or even sell or trade from our gardens.
