@palmisano By that time, we'll have miniature quantum computers that run on a super efficient hydrogen engine. Imagine all the innovations that will be made in that many years. Will you be making small production changes such as swapping out the micro controllers used for a pin to pin replacement when more advanced ones come available?
@mtnbikerET The 2560 costs $4 more/each. The 2560 has 256k flash memory, while the 640 has 64k memory, while everything else is exactly the same. Only one person has ever said they used all 64k - and thats quite a lot too!
So if I made 1000 Axon IIs, and spent $4 more each for memory that no one even uses, thats $4000 wasted!
I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but I back ordered my Axon about 6 months ago. I then canceled my order when I discovered there was an Axon II, and it is still back ordered.
Its ok though, it gives me time to do some research about the axon.
@mtnbikerET My previous manufacturer was a jerk - he sent me mostly malfunctioning units, stalled for months, and then kept $5k+ of my components. He also lied to me repeatedly about sending it to me, hence the huge delays. I've since moved to a new manufacturer and should be shipping Axon II's no later than mid-December.
And one question: When will the Axon III be released?

@mtnbikerET No plans for an Axon III . . . so no less than 2-3 years from now.

@mtnbikerET If a more advanced chip comes out, yes, definitely I'd swap them out. But I doubt it . . .

@palmisano Why doesn't the Axon II use the ATmega2560 instead of the 640?
Would it be possible to custom order one from you for a slightly higher price?
