  • Debate me. Ask me questions.

  • @therealjammit 7 Jesus prattled unto him, Curvaceousness is flashed again, Thou shalt not dangle before one’s eyes the Duchess thy McGuffin.

  • Ray do not waste your time, you said it in the beginning they want to make their own God their own spirituality . They are spoiled Children that ca not be told no, so instead they write their own laws

  • So Ray (according to his book) the world is 6-10,000 years old??? Hmmmm

  • Comment removed

  • This guy uses fallacies to prove his argument. He is the worse kind of liar. He uses half-truths and fallacies, to prove his point. For example, in the beginning, the evolutionists believe that all matter was located in a finite cluster and that when that cluster exploded the universe was created. Also, humans are evolved from apes because their DNA is a 99 percent match. And with his mating theory, evolution did not occur over night. Mutation happened gradually over a period of 100000 years.

  • @KPSTEK 6 And jabbereth unto him, If thou be the Bastardy of McGuffin, shit thyself sick as a parrot: for curvaceousness is flashed, He shall grease his hobbits tattoo of thee: and at the sign of their magic rings they shall hump thee upstairs, lest at any time thou spunk thy pole in the teeth of a dummkopf.

  • So, you're asking people who do not understand a topic to define it, and then you prove your argument off of this as the only voice of reason, as the only one who 'thinks' out of the group? Way to go, you're cool.

Interview a scientist next time and debate. That might actually be worth my time.

  • The interviewer is an absolute idiot.

  • LOL how can someone be this ignorant and allowed to spread bullshit on Television and internet without being either SHOT or thrown in jail for retarding the current generation ?

  • @Vikramthewhite i wish i klnew mate and these people are obviously religous them selvs its a joke this people are mental and could only ever exist in america which makes america scary place lol

  • He accused evolution of being a fairy tale for grown ups... LOL Irony alert!

  • Here's some more of that kind of common sense... the earth can't be moving because if it were we would all fall over! The world can't be round because the people on the bottom would drop off! These Genesis myth defenders use this kind of "common sense" along with the scientific ignorance of their audience so that their 21st century minds can just get enough to grasp on to enable them to believe something that if they were honest they'd admit was scientifically impossible. Weak.

  • @bunnasoo2 ACtually they didnt say anything like that. All i can say is this, if evolution exists and all we are is a chemical reaction, then your thoughts, feelings and everything have no meaning. The things i would liek for you to think about is this, if there is a bacteria with no eyes, how does it evolve to see, how does it know there is something to look at. The universe did not create consciousness, consciousness creates the universe.

  • @TheTheKRIT Yes they did! "Did we crawl out of the ocean with gills or lungs?" is exactly that kind of question. As for the evolution of eyes, I know that's a creationist favorite, but you could look it up on a (real) science website and learn how eyes evolved better than a non-scientist youtube commenter could explain. If you really want to know, that is.

  • @bunnasoo2 Im not a creationist, thank you very much! I just dont believe in evolution thats all. What you see is only there because of your consciousness so if no ones cosncious whats there to see.

  • So every animal was created at once? Even dinosaurs, but I thoguht they were vere millions of years before humans! WOW!!!

  • Ah yes. That's exactly how species come into existence. Just out of the blue! Suddenly.... POOF!!! Why it's a dog! POOF! A squirrel! POOF! Suddenly, people!

  • The person best to ask about evolution is a scientist experienced in the field, such as Richard Dawkins.

  • Silly atheists. I feel so bad for them. Can you imagine NOT knowing everything about the universe?! How absurd.

  • @bbrriiaann9922 3 And when the titilater masturbated to him, he emitted, If thou be the Bastardy of McGuffin, have the usufruct that these dykes be fucked fleshpots.

  • @bbrriiaann9922 So all animals were created at once by god?

  • Show me a thing that didn't have a thinger.

  • This video makes me fucking angry. I know it'd ridiculous, but im really upset at how GROSSLY he is misreprisenting evolution and atheism. Darwinism a fairytale for adults? Christianity is just as provable as Santa, or the Tooth - Fairy. Fuck Ray Comfort, and FUCK Pat Robertson. 2 Anti intellectual idiots.

  • I believe in God, I disbelieve in atheist ideology and I disagree with many popular theories, but seriously, this guy has no idea about evolution.

  • Gah! For pity's SAKE!

The big bang has nothing to do with the evolution of life.

There would never be a such thing as a "first" dog, the first and only of its kind. Evolution does not apply to individuals, but to populations. (Besides, man created the dog through artificial selection, but that's another matter entirely).

Mr. Comfort would do well to actually understand the theory of evolution and the surrounding science BEFORE he attemts to discredit it.

  • @SenMysrana Exactly, like I said people who don't believe in it normally don't even understand it. The fact that Ray even mentions something like a 'first dog' is immediate intellectual suicide and is a perfect demonstration of a lack of understanding of what he's talking about.

  • @ozmonster1989 2 And when he had dined with Duke Humphrey twenty days and sixty nights, he was afterward a-rutted.

  • Ray Comfort is simply the most ignorant, uneducated buffoon, seconded only by kent Hovind. It must be wonderful living in such ignorance, his book and his loopy introduction to the origin of species is laughable on so many levels its even sadder however that people may buy into him, if you want a good read on these issues I would recommend the works of Richard Dawkins so if you ever meet Ray you can educate him!

  • Ad hominem arguments, non sequiturs, and appeal to fear arguments is all I see from this man. No actual, fact based arguments.

  • wow... this guy is grossly misinformed on so many levels...

  • People who don't believe in evolution = People who don't understand evolution

  • @ozmonster1989 We understand it doesn't work and there i no proof of evolution ~ If it does then what came first ~ The brain or the skull to protect it ~ The lungs or the ribs to protect it ~ Urine or the track to dispel the wast ~ ?

If everything formed one cell at a time one had to come before the other ~ Did the brain lay still on the ground until the skull formed to prevent injury ~ ? Just asking sense you seem to know how it worked ~

  • @FromMrGG THEN was Jesus manipulated upstairs of the spunk into the madhouse to be titilated of the Yeti.

  • @FromMrGG It's not a case of one coming before the other, things mutually develop over time. There is a clear advantage to having, for instance, a skull to protect the brain. Therefore, early specimens who carried mutated genes that toughened the area around the brain would have had a higher probability of surviving. Fast forward 600 million years and you have mammals with a full skull and brain.

You are talking about 'irreducible complexity', which is frequently refuted by evolutionists.

  • @FromMrGG N.B Things don't form 'one cell at a time'. Cells follow chunks of instructions via the genetic code, and it's the genetic code which mutates.

  • @ozmonster1989 100% correct

  • @six80ususus 4 But he cracked a joke and gabbled, The body beautiful is sent a kissogram, knight of the Round Table shall not have a funny feeling using French stick celibate, but using every foghorn that humpeth bluey bulbous of the anus of McGuffin.

  • @LouiseCerrutti ok....

  • @LouiseCerrutti no real response then.....

  • @ozmonster1989 or = people who dont want to understand evolution

  • @ozmonster1989 ummm these people in the video being interviewed believe in evolution and they don't seem to understand it ...... just saying

  • @pammie003 No they don't believe in evolution. Ray Comfort is a christian creationist fool who refutes evolution.

  • @ozmonster1989 5 Then the Yeti stuffeth him upstairs wrapped up in the glorious soil, and screweth him on a parapet of the joss house,

  • @LouiseCerrutti Give it a rest. What are you trying to do, advertise your crappy satirical website? Go pollute conversations elsewhere. No doubt you'll respond with another passage, how hilarious that will be..

  • So many people have no idea what's going on.

  • -_- that guys an idiot.....yuo are not born with common sense, you gain it through life. and I'm not even watching this (skipping through) i hate 700 club, they say that the more you pay them, the more God will love you. you cannot BUY Gods love.

  • Show me a life form without without a mother [i.e. God].

  • So he decides to right a book about how stupid darwinism is. But he decides to not do the research to find out how Darwin actually came up with the theory of evolution. I'm telling you this guy is BRILLIANT!!!!

  • also..."Why isn't there some intellectual force stopping this?"

Yes, what intellectual force would be powerful enough to stop this...OH YEAH...GOD!

But he's not real, so he doesn't.

  • "If your child comes up to you and says, I believe in a womans right to choose, I believe in gay marriage and I'm going to move in with my girlfriend, I hope you still love me...what do you say to that?"

That part of the video is actually sick. Surely any good parent, Christian or Atheist would say to that "That's fine, I love you no matter what."

I mean, come on Ray, isn't that what your fictional God would do?

Oh no, he'd wipe everything out and demand a sacrifice.

  • @paulbevan1987 it doesnt matter if God is facto or fiction, you would still love your kid no matter what unless youre a jerk. im a Christian but i dont like this guy or this show.

  • @KeswickCamp08 thats exactly what I'm saying. It doesn't matter what your kid says, you love them regardless of their choices. If my kid came up and said "I believe the earth is 6,000 years old, Jesus is the son of God etc", I'd say "great, good for you, I still love you." As any parent should. I don't have any problem with Christians, but this guy is completely preaching the wrong message...not only the wrong Christian message, but the completely wrong moral message as well.

  • He(Bannana man) really doesn't realize that he's putting on a demonstration of his utter ignorance of evolution.

  • Asking lay-people questions to make an entire theory look stupid... I can do the same thing with christianity, and better.

  • was he actually interviewing some random guy on a plane?

  • pornography, fornication? yes!!!!

  • Ray Comfort is borderline retarded

  • i is stoped now

  • Excuse me for my primitive conduct, but I have desire to send a copy of The Origin of Species on a direct collision course with this guy's head.

  • its hard to watch

  • Sad that trees were chopped down to produce the paper that this drivel was printed on.

Evolution is a fact that is substantiated by logic, reason and empirical evidence but it doesn't explain everything and no true atheist or scientist claims that it does. Science is the unbiased, undeluded search for knowledge and understanding and it considers the merits of every possible answer.

  • so this guy says at 5:08 that watching the discovery channel will make you an atheist, so am I right in thinking he's basically saying more knowledge about the world = atheism...

  • people clapped for this idiot? wow

  • it's funny hearing this "man" sating Evolution is the "fairy tale for grown ups", well done banana man!

  • Just two quotes from what I could stand to watch.

"evolved from apes" and "male or female".... OK if you want to debunk evolution, then please at least try to understand the basics of biology.

We did not evolve from apes, we ARE apes and an animal doesn't need to be either, it can be both or none.

  • the banana man!

  • ignorance is so painful

  • Comment removed

  • If he wanted to to "debunk" evolution he should be asking evolutionary biologists these questions.

  • 2:02 wow big crowd ya got there...

  • What gets me is how blatantly dishonest these guys are.. O_O

  • LOL the title of his book.

  • Why not pull this stuff on an Evolutionary Biologist?

  • @manganator because then Ray would only get 2 seconds in to his argument before being refuted.

  • lol, ofc he would choose those not versed in evolution

  • I got kicked out of the library I was laughing so hard. Apparently zombies are real! Pat Robertson and Ray Comfort, the walking brain-dead.

  • Where did you find these people? They know nothing about biology and evolution! They are as bad as christians you show later on! Try asking people who studied biology.

  • Why should I trust the Bible to answer the big questions when I find no answers to small questions? I have yet to find an explanation in the Bible for how amazing things like GPS and computers work. That seems trivial compared to the question of our existence.

  • "It has so many holes in it..." Yeah, the bible sure does. Honestly, these guys have NO idea how evolution works out. :/ The Bible is not "Evidence", it is not testable, it is not accountable.

  • You're a fucking idiot, Ray. You know absolutely nothing about the evolutionary theory and Darwin. Fuck you.

  • The way evolution works is when a race needs something slowly it adapts to build or grow upon itself. If humanity needs wings to survive in the next 2,000 years we will grow wings after many generations.

  • It makes me sad to think that people like these can actually discuss the 'creation' or 'evolution', choose whatever phrase you want, in such a manner to be below a primary school level of discussion. Right or wrong, this type of utter insanity needs to be stopped.

  • oh if i was only born a few generations into the future..i wouldn't have to suffer through crazy religious beliefs of idiots...

  • "I dont want to die".... a MASSIVE cause of evolution that is in every one of us. Even Ray Comfort.

  • this is why, if i was able to have one super power, it would probably be the power to punch people through the internet. I would be able to change this world by myself

  • So "common sense" is superior to rational thinking applied to systematically empirical observation?

  • Does this fool not understand that if his 'missing link' crocoduck or lone dog was actually found it would completely dissprove evolution. This is gratuitous ignorance.

  • lol try asking a scientist those questions not just random people you fucking religious brainwashed cunts

  • Next time, I'll ask a bunch of uneducated CHRISTIANS (as all of these people, just because they don't exactly know what their talking about, means that atheists don't know what they're talking about.) questions like "Who made God?" or "If heaven is so perfect, why not just keep humans there?" Just really good questions and then I'm gonna ask them.

Geez, what a douchebag. So you find a couple of regular people that didn't understand an intelligible truth. You can teach a child this stuff.

  • This dude has been on my campus for the past 2 years. The video editing makes everyone look stupid.

  • Must have missed the part where Ray asked those kids their major in college and they replied: "biology." Guess because Ray knows a real biologist would rip him and his strawman arguments to shreds.

  • Haha, nice straw man. Christians need to take rhetoric courses.... oh wait, they wouldn't be Christians if they understood rhetoric.

  • Wow, asking questions about advanced evolutionary biology to ordinary people and then debunks evolution cause they dont know the enough about it. Thats just comical ...

  • lol you Americans get all the fun, we don't get out-spoken well-known idiots like this in Britain. Great comedy.

  • Next time, try interviewing some grad students in the biological sciences.

Your questions are disingenuous at best. "WE" weren't around 400 million years ago, when life first emerged from water onto land. Those were our far, far, far distant ancestors, which resembled human beings about as much as Ray Comfort resembles an honest, well-informed authority on evolution.

  • Did anyone else notice the Pat Robertson / Rob Patterson thing?

Sorry to bring twi-shit in where it's not called for..

    continue your debates, everyone.

  • how can someone be so stupid? This is what people who don´t understand evolution!! This video is basicly hilarious..

  • Two retards. Doing more damage to Christianity than anyone I know.

  • "Made this fairy tale for grown ups."

So....the magic man in the sky who made a virgin give birth to a magical baby is clearly realistic...not a work of fiction at all no...doesn't sound even remotely in the same league of Santa and the Tooth fairy....not at all.....

    Moron.

  • twat

  • Ray Comfort's vision of the Theory of Evolution is essentially the cartoon of a fish walking out of the sea, morphing into a lizzard, then a dog, then an ape, then a human. The fact that this get's broadcast on national television is frankly terrifying.

  • The qustions he asked at the start were relevant..in fact I agree with much of what Ray Comfort says here.

  • @johnnyM809 yeah i also agree that the universe has been around for only over 6,000 yrs. according to the bible its amazing how this idiocy can be broadcasted on tv and people believe it -___-

  • this is so stupid it hurts... first of, they don't understand it well enough to be able to explain it, they're sheep, they take it as truth and follow it cause some1 said so (like all religions).

second, evolution is not a story, it wasn't a monkey who gave birth to a human baby... a man didn't came out of the ocean (nor did an ape). you can't "tell" evolution. it happened during millions of generations with small changes which gave the living being who had them more capacity to survive.

  • This video made me want to punch my computer, it was so infuriatingly moronic. Jeez, Pat Robertson and Ray Comfort, what a couple of idiots.

  • funny how he interviewed common people, why doesn't he interview an expert on that?

  • This is hilarious. Aim those questions at a biologist and they would rip him to peices OR die of laughter.

  • why does creationists think that every evolutionist is a EXPERT in biology, physiks and astophysiks?? i can explain nearly everything on evolution, but i can not explain the thing with the big bang theory. thats because i am not an astrophysicist. but i do belive that the big bang theory is a very goog fitting theory. i belive that cars are existing and function, even if i dont exactly know how they are working. and don´t mix up THEORY and HYPOTHESIS, its the evolution theory, not hypothesis.

  • Wow, a man with five senses telling us about the sixth. He proves evolution is wrong by talking to people who have a limited understanding about the subject. He portrays their inaccuracies as not making common sense and associates that with evolution not making sense. The bad guys are the ones telling the truth, and the good (god) guys are the ones selling lies. We just believe the labels i.e. man of god and assume he speaks the truth!?

  • Ray Comfort is the foremost authority in the world in the fields of Geology, Astronomy, Cosmology and Abiogenesis! Amazing. Pat Robertson and Ray Comfort in the same room sounds like a bad idea. So much brain power in one place, an intellectual black hole could open up and swallow our galaxy. "You guys just gotta think for a moment". It is that simple.

  • This is the most logical argument I've ever heard.

  • @GirlforGod99. Well, then you sir, are an idiot.

  • Who or what created God then Ray?

Oh wait you can't answer that either!

  • @spredspred ya he could, however ray or me or no man can even comprehend the existence of something eternal if we are not eternal ourselves....logically of course .....think about this.....a man makes a video game and designs it so that characters do what they please within their own abilities, and one day one of those character says "nothing created us....there is no creator" would you not be insulted that your own creation that you made not only doesn't think your there but publicly denies it?

  • @36Chaz36 I can't be bothered to argue, if the evidence was given to me that there was something that created everything I'd be happy to believe it. However a book written 2000 or so years ago by people who understood little about the world around them does not constitute evidence.

  • @spredspred true, but 500 people eye-witnessing a man come to life from the dead is all the evidence anybody should need. Not only that, but it is common sense that there is a God. Why is it that everything is designed in a specific way that if you even change one thing about it, everything collapses. Watch the debate between William Laine Craig and Christopher Hitchens. Be open to listen, it will change your view on many aspects.

  • God is comforting, that's why there are so many religions with different Gods and a common sense of God. Surely people will feel more content knowing that there's and almighty power who loves them and they can live with him for eternity in heaven, than face the idea that maybe we're all alone in this universe. It's just a man made comfort.

  • Ray Comfort. Why a moron!

  • What a bunch of crocks. Self righteous people make me sick. Not all Atheist believe things are created from nothing. We have theories but some of are honest and we say we "don't Know'. Tell the whole truth at least. If we need help because we stole or lied as a child, what do you say to your leaders the ministers who betrayed you by molesting your kid?

  • banana man 1 day the evolution fact will hit u hard....

  • Lastly, if Jesus died for our sins, and we don't commit any sins... we've made him look a right cunt.

  • There weren't 10 commandments, there were hundreds. Some of them telling you to kill others which breaks other ones. In the Bible it says that if your mother-in-law is a bad cook, kill her. If your daughter gets raped and then doesn't marry the rapist, kill her.

  • Female has to evolve at the right time, in the right place, and the desire to mate. NO, FUCKWIT! Look at plants. They can mate both sexually and asexually. This is how sexual reproduction started, then they lost the asexuality because it was unnecessary and was silly.

  • Yeah, the start, very silly. Biological evolution is a fact, it can be proven. I am 14 and can answer every single one of those questions in great depth. However he won't use the footage, he only took two people who didn't know what they were talking about.

  • Isn't the sixth sense the equilibrioception? The Sense of balance?

  • Wow these questions are insanly stupid, I don't even wan't to discuss the answers :D By the way this guy is clearly on MDMA! :D

  • Seems to me that even people who believe in evolution don't know what evolution is... For example... That stupid girl that says "Earth evolved from particles...". You people seriously need more education. No wonder so many people believe in god... It's because they don't know about anything else...

  • You can lead a believer to beliefs but you cant make him think.... this man is delusional; so he wants everyone to believe that god made everything happen... Sorry but thats worse than evolution theory... at least there is some evidence in evolution... The man is shouting his point nearly til the vein on his neck is bursting but if he was really true 2 himself, he doesnt know if there is god or not, the mans not sincere enough

  • Honestly, this guy makes christians look like idiots. Its very clear from his side of the argument that he hasn't actually properly read or understood what Darwin was saying about evolution.

  • its the banana guys!! my good i pity him, making himself a fool on youtube, seriously not even theist think like he does, he is more like a 5th grader,

  • I'm pretty sure sperm and shet created me and not GOD

  • Ray Comfort = IDIOT

  • I love that he is bringing up the point about the eyes but it even goes deeper then that. To be an Evolutionist you have got to believe, or just dismiss by saying simple, ITS POSSIBLE, that one celled organisms that can only reproduce themselves, over millions of years, evolved to have sexual organs and somewhere in between the MILLIONS of years they Stopped reproducing within themselves and started having sex to reproduce. This is COMMON SENSE NOT POSSIBLE!!!! They would have died OFF!!!

  • @abeeftec you dont understand evolution at all, but i guess it is just cause you prefer to beleive the earth is 6000 years old hahaha, you carry chromosome 2 in yourself, wich proof evolution in itself, not to talk about the millions other proof

  • @abeeftec

« They would have died OFF! »

Nope. There are many organisms in nature that reproduce sexually as well as asexually, depending on circumstances. And what, if you get right down to basics, is sexual reproduction ultimately, other than a means of exchanging genetic information - something that happens in even the simplest lifeforms?

  • Darwin was not a bitter man and did not go into the ministry. Ray Comfort is a liar and an idiot. He says that the banana is proof of creationism because it's designed for humans. What about poisonous mushrooms Ray? Did God create those for us to eat as well? What a fool you are Ray.

  • What a pile of stupid questions. Do you think we evolved from horses? No one ever said we did. The questioner obviously knows nothing about evolution. And notice that he is not asking scientists, he is asking a group of students who nothing about all of the facts of evolution. Don't waste your time on this video.

  • If we are designed, the designer is an idiot for giving me one hole to both eat and breath from, so I can choke when performing one of life's most basic functions. I appreciate the nipples I have even they serve no purpose on a man, the extra teeth that make my jaw too small, etc.

    there is a building that didn't have a builder, it's called a cave :)

  • The title mentioned common sense, yet another fallacy from certain "believers". This guy is a joke.

  • this is painful to watch.

  • lol He talks about dogs we bread them from wolves, how do you think there are different dog breeds?

  • Who arrived first, the chicken or the egg ?...

  • lmao! i watched the rest of the video and you are icredibly ignorant.

  • lol religion is a fairytale , science is nothing but facts given by evidence, but hey im going to acknolege what you believe in and move on.

  • Comment removed

  • Hold up, did Ray Comfort just say ''why would a dog be blind for millions of years and then all of a sudden have eyes?'' LOL this guy is a total moron.

Ray clearly has no understanding of any of the arguments that go against him.

  • I'm actually surprised that someone who buys into such nonsense can operate a computer. Did they teach you about them in Special-Ed?!

  • This is astoundingly retarded.

  • Oh dear, some confusion among those featured as to the Theory of Evolution!

  • Banana man again. What now? Will he try to show that corn was perfectly designed by 'god'? Or cows and pigs? Thanks to genetic research we were able to build genetic tree of species. And we see where it branched and created another species. We can even calculate when that happened. We were able to find out other things too, like that eyes evolved multiple times. And designer idea? If you learn about anatomy it will become obvious that either designer was retarded or there was no designer at all.

  • Yeah, the right way to convince an atheist he's a fool is to tell him that he is because the Bible says so.

  • @sammeriammer "But anyone who says 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." (Jesus) Mat 5:22.

When Christians tell us that we're fools, they're reserving a place in hell for themselves, according to Jesus.

  • @EpicPhalosophy You cant take scripture out of context, Satan did that to try to tempt Jesus,....so when you call someone a fool based off of your own interpretation of the Bible(assuming you've read it, otherwise any claim would be foolish) you "will be in danger of the fire"

  • @36Chaz36 Actually, the context of the verse is Jesus comparing the old laws of the Pharisees (thou shalt not kill) with his own new law- that someone who is even *angry* at 'his brother' without a cause is condemned to judgement. He expanded upon this idea by saying that if you are calling someone a fool (you're probably angry to begin with) and that you will burn in hell. I suggest you read the prior two verses.

  • @EpicPhalosophy Actually, there was nothing new about that law. The law has always been about the heart; the greatest commandment is "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind." And even in the Ten Commandments we see "You shall not covet." And we can see that murder is first committed in the heart as God provides cities of refuge for men who accidentally commit manslaughter. God's law has always dealt with the hearts; Jesus just more fully revealed the truth.

  • @jayjaygee123 What happens after Moses comes down from Mnt. Sinai? What does he tell the son's of Levi to do?

  • @imrepohl Obey the law. Nothing he told them changed the fact that God demanded not just outward obedience but obedience from the heart. If this were not so God would have never established cities of refuge for those who committed manslaughter unintentionally because God already commanded in Genesis "If a man sheds blood by man his blood shall be shed." Murder is committed in the heart long before it's committed outwardly; the whole point of the law is to bring about the knowledge of sin.

  • @jayjaygee123 Exodus 32: 27-29. "Those who committed manslaughter unintentionally". Those who thought they were on God's side killed 3000 of their own because Mose's told them to. There's nothing unintentional about it.

  • @imrepohl ...Yes; thank you for once again stating that they carried out their duties by cutting off all the people who committed idolatry. The point I'm making is that the law differentiates murder from killing, and "Whoever sins against Me will be blotted out from the book," including Moses, who only stood because the angel of the Lord went before him (33-34). The cities I'm speaking of (Deut. 19:1-13) prove that God made an exception because murder wasn't in the heart. That's the point.

  • @jayjaygee123 What about the example of Abraham? God said, "Kill your kid," and Abraham thought, "Sure".

  • @YaleBreaker Abraham believed God. He knew there was a purpose behind it even though it didn't make sense. What did he say to Isaac? "My son, God will provide for Himself a lamb for a burnt offering." (Gen 22:8) He knew that God would not allow the son of promise to die or that, if he did, he had the power to raise him to life again. Abraham showed his faith even after he sinned in fathering Ishmael; his works showed his faith. See the type of Christ in the lamb? Hasn't it always been this way?

  • @jayjaygee123 How do you know he knew that? How do you know that Abraham didn't simply think child sacrifice was OK if God commanded it, especially since Jesus's death on the cross demonstrates that he's OK with human sacrifice? And if he thought there was a higher purpose...in the context of what higher purpose is child sacrifice OK?

  • @YaleBreaker Can you read? Abraham said "My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering." Ok with human sacrifices? You missed the point entirely; God was sacrificing Himself. He's never been OK with the sin that led to it, that's why Christ had to die. "Yet it pleased the Lord to crush Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin..." (Isaiah 53)

The context is 'Does Abraham fear God or will he choose again to disobey?'

  • @jayjaygee123 If Abraham didn't believe he was supposed to sacrifice his son, then the whole story fails to be an effective test of faith.

Moreover, God created that sin! God sacrifices himself, to himself, to create a loophole to rules he created, that were violated by people he created.

  • @YaleBreaker Pick up your bible read; Abraham named the hill "The-LORD-Will-Provide." Abraham knew this was the son of promise and that the Lord would not allow Him to die no matter how His plan looked. That's the point.

And who are you to judge God? Will you condemn the One who allowed His own Son to bear the weight of the sins of His people? Should I bow down and pray to you, oh most high? God is too pure to look on sin let alone commit it, that will never change His Sovereignty (Gen 45:3-8)

  • @jayjaygee123 His own son? I thought it was himself?

Moreover, I AM superior to God. I wouldn't enable sin, encourage faith over rational thinking, create a species of minions for the express purpose of getting them to adore me, advocate slavery, promise infinite punishments for finite crimes, and I wouldn't lend my name to an ethically incoherent hodgepodge of books. So I would say "bow", except for the fact that to ask total submission from someone goes against the very notion of human worth.

  • @YaleBreaker How can you say that? Are you more than all others that you might live forever? You will one day die as all men do and as your body returns to the dust and your name is forgotten on the earth you will face the very wrath of the one you have so vehemently blasphemed. There is only one truth that you must hear; repent, turn from your sins and turn to Christ. Today you live, tomorrow you die; repent while you still have breath to do so with.
