  • Omg I remember watching this on Disney channel as a kid! I though he was just the hottest and HATED every time that girl showed up. haha

  • As Sragonlover91 said, I think it is stupid when they have English audio when there are Norwegians talking with each other, in Norway. It always annoys me when the characters only speak English. You don't speak another language, unless other people are there who need to understand, when you can use your mother tongue.

I saw the movie today and thought it was very good. The swiching of languages between English and Norwegian was a good twist that made the movie more real.

  • Why make a international version? Can't English-speakers read subtitles like everyone else? Still I love this movie, and it's best in Norwegian

I think more movies should have the native language in them and not in English ( I still think it's sad that in many movies about the second world war everyone speaks English even though they're supposed to speak french or german and not understand each other )

  • Dragonlover91, I totally agree. I'm in Minneapolis; most Americans are totally clueless when it comes to life in other countries.

I go to the Norwegian Church (One of only 2 churches in America where Norwegian is part of the service, the other is in Chicago.). Tomorrow they will show Hakon Hakonsen in Norwegian.

The only downside is for people like Mark, my friend at church. His eyesight is so poor that he can't read subtitles. So it's helpful to have an English track for folks like him.

  • @AppleSouffle Sorry about your friend. Yeah, I guess for people like him that can't read the subtitles the English version is better.

It's nice to see that the cluelessness many Americans have does not apply to all. :D I have to ask since you go to a Norwegian church if you understand Norwegian or have parents or grandparents that are Norwegian...^^

  • HOLY SHIT! Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I loved this movie as a kid (I'm Danish, my dad's Norwegian like the original movie's language) and when I recently bought the movie I was so sad to find out the language was English, because I could've sworn it was Norwegian. You just made my day, now I just have to find the Region 2 DVD. :D
