Octavia's work definitely inspired the paranormal activity in the Sci-Fi Novel Renpet......there is a transmission here on YOUTUBE if you can find it....under the name: 2012 - Renpet
Butler is one of the reasons I read SF. She never TRIES to make you feel one way or the other, she just does and powerfully so. I hate that non-SF readers think the genre is all about space adventures and aliens. Parable of the Sower was better than The Road.
Ursula K. Le Guin, Connie Willis, Nancy Kress... WHY don't more women read SF? Even the stuff written by dudes these days tend to be full of strong yet believable female characters, more so than most genres. Gibson's Cayce Pollard ruled.

This is great!
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the whole documentary?
I found a large part of it on GoogleVideos, but I'd like to find a better quality version, if possible.

It's time for Hollywood to use more sci-fi stories by women and minorities.
