  • I like the different voicing the long 5th string provides. It kinda has that river boat plectrum feel. Couldn't help but laugh at 3:20 "I call em tacks, a lot of people call em spikes", very Carl from Slingblade.

I would love to hear something in a minor tuning with the 5th string being alternately tuned. Keep up the good work guys!

  • Very cool stuff

  • think this guys from walsall

  • Hey that's my guitarist!! Love you, Donnie!

  • well, i own a 'banjitar' (banjo head, guitar neck) but never play it 'cus the notes don't ring like a banjo. looks like you've come up with a fine compromise.

  • Sick ass picking and sound.Loved the exit jam you did

  • very interesting

  • Warren, that must be a pretty thin gauge 5th string to keep from breaking while tuned up 5 more frets than the normal 5th string, I know the 5th and the 1st are normally the same gauge.

  • The fifth string is a .008 where the 1st string is a .010. When it is up to tension they sound the same.

    Warren

  • cool...Where can i get one

  • Purists will have a fit, but I like it.

  • Great idea, plus a very nice sounding banjo.

  • This is a new banjo design that we are building. Donnie is the only one that knows how to play it we believe at this point. Who know where it may go. The next big part of banjo history just might be getting ready to happen. Who will be the next Earl?

  • Ron Stewart, that's who =P
