honestly i think if a gundam was really fast and had a long beam saber,gn sword combo they could easily defeat another gundam becuase if you can catch them off gaurd with speed,strike with the sword and theyd be dead

A machine isn't really much without a gun as a melee fighter has to get close enough to hit first. Generally, Allelujah tends to get the better end of that stick since his units are a combo of speed, melee and firepower.

You gotta understand the significance of a Beam Saber: Like Lightsabers, they technically have no weight whatsoever, to the point that even Graham was caught off-guard by how quickly the Exia could attack with it. Besides, his own melee weapon was lost when he underestimated the Exia's strength on the first charge.

VOTOMS and Patlabor were the two greatest masterpieces of Real Robot. even Gundam in the old days, had to bend over backwards to even compete with them.

Nowadays? Gundam is too aimed at women. it's right up there now with MaiZHime and the rest of the shoujo crap Sunrise makes. it isn't for /m/en anymore. it's lost the GAR because all the characters act too effeminate.
