  • Ah, Strother and Paul. It worked in Butch Cassidy, it really worked in Cool Hand Luke, and it worked here.

  • "Theres never been a film like it, there may never be another"

    ENTER THE GOON!!

  • the Johnstown Jets! where this movie was filmed....actually the Johnstown Jets changed their name to Chiefs because the movie was so popular.

  • This film has more balls than any other movie from the 00's

  • starring PAUL NEWMAN!

    ......

    also with PAUL NEWMAN!

    .......

did we mention that PAUL NEWMAN is in this film?!?!

[count how many times they show his name in the trailer. REALLY.]

  • this movie in '77 put minor league hockey on the map. "you mean like

    Eddie Shore?"

"ah piss on Eddie Shore!!!!" Strother Martin was hilarious.

  • Just an all time CLASSIC movie! Hillarious! My brother in law who originally was born and raised in Montreal and witnessed their dominance in the late 70's was literally in tears after the first time he'd watched this movie!

  • You cheap sonofbitch, those guys are fuckin retards! any piece of shit that comes on the market, you gotta buy-hey reg, that reminds me, I was coaching for Eddie Shore and he sends me this guy.............What did we trade for these guys, a used puck bag! recycled jock straps, lol

  • My favorite sports movie of all time. "Old time hockey?" "P!SS on 'old-time hockey'!" "Eddie Shore?" "P!SS on Eddie Shore!"

  • back when hockey was a mens game?

  • I want to watch this so bad

  • Joey Barton and Marlon King would be into doing that.

  • FILMED IN MY HOMETOWN OF JOHNSTOWN, PA FTW!!!

  • R.I.P. Reggie

  • Hey darred29. Thanx for the reply. I guess I've never seen the original 'cause none of these songs (except 'Right back...') appeared on any versions (english or french) that I watched...(TV, VHS or DVD). Thanx again

  • Did you all know that Paul Newman claimed that Slap Shot was the movie he loved the best?

  • Trade me right fuckin' now! :D

  • YOU cant PUT A Bounty on a mans head! I JUST DID

  • There will definitely never be another movie like it...TRADE ME RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

  • To any one.

OK, Maxine Nightingale's "Right back where we started it from" is the one song that has survived over the years, but does anyone have a clue on the rest of the soundtrack? Where can you find the music? I spent the better part of the 90's looking for a possible soundtrack in used record shops without any luck. Does one even excist?

  • @EMBAR1973 - IMDB gives RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED FROM, SORRY SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST WORD, RHIANNON, SAY YOU LOVE ME, A LITTLE BIT SOUTH OF SASKATOON & YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING as the originals. On tv, they have the right songs, but bleeps; on dvd, no bleeps but wrong songs. AND, IMBD shows a "Slap Shot 2012" in production!

  • just like in the movie the Johnstown Chiefs are folding at the end of the season

  • @crazyeyes1977 not folding,moving

  • @buffalosabresredneck yeah I know, kind of a bummer for Johnstown

  • Paul Newman was perfectly casted as Reg Dunlop. He would have fit right in with my beer league friends most of whom could have played for a team like The Chiefs but we just didn't want too! Oh those bus rides were just too dam much!

  • DAVE'S A KILLER!!

    Dave's a mess..

  • Ol'Time hockey... eddie shore...

  • whats the name of the song playing when they are going to an away game in a red bus

  • "Right Back Where We Started From" by Maxine Nightingale

  • @dctags21 this movie was good

  • @dctags21 will all due respect to Maxine Nightingale, i wonder so much why they decided to put that song on Slapshot.

  • @kukunge That brilliant song is "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" by Elton John. I'm actually listening to that song right now while watching this trailer. One of the greatest songs by Elton John!

  • This looks good. :)

  • Im gonna eat it

  • I hate sports movies... But I love Slap Shot! What a film!

  • poor Ogie well with his deportation and his countrys refusal to accept him

  • lol 1:40 hes like bitch

  • That was Mo who was telling the story about how he $^#*ed the barmaid on the last trip and how she came up to him and rubbed her jugs on him.

    ROFL

One of the greatest sports movies of all time.

One of the best scenes is when the GM is telling Paul Newman about one time when he was coaching and Eddie Shore sent him this player who was a terrible masturbator. Priceless...

  • The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation owes me a hat. They presented a question on The Inside Track asking what team the Chiefs were based on. I correctly answered the Johnstown Jets (Pennsylvania) and they announced that on the air.

    Still haven't received the hat.

  • "Walt! What're ya doin?"

    "MAKIN' IT LOOK MEAN!"

  • Jack Robinson!

  • who was the guy in the movie when they were at the hotel he was telling the story about some bartender's boobs?

  • Ogie Oglethorp!!!

  • I sure miss Paul Newman

  • "there's never been a film like Slapshot, there may never be another". how true.

  • IAN LAPERRIERE!!!!

  • best sports movie ever made. try and tell me otherwise.

  • "we are the titans", "hoosiers"," radio","miracle". Slap shot is simply the greatest hockey movie of all time, but 32 years later, one can see how shallow it was.

  • ** "Remember the Titans"

  • @hereiwaswasihere Miracle. This is the best sports comedy movie (Caddy Shack is a close second). Best sports movie is Miracle.

  • @larsen550 "Miracle!?" fuckin' MIracle? The story of the 'american hockey, starring Kurt Russel? c'mon man. I rather watch Major league 5.

  • @ryanlesperance777 And there is your ignorance... The greatest underdog story hockey has to offer. Try and prove me wrong here Ryan. You won't.

  • @larsen550 I have to be honest..I actually googled "Miracle 2004 bad reviews" just so I could throw something at you ,but came up with nothing, literally nothing. damn! Any HOCKEY movie involving the Americans triumph in hockey leaves this Canadian bitter and resentful. You understand. Still not a big Kurt Russell fan.

  • @ryanlesperance777 Haha yeah I understand that. At least you can say you beat us in the Olympics last year :) But it is the most triumphant moment in hockey history. Mainly because the Commies were so effing dominant and then they lost to a bunch of college kids. I know how you feel though, country rivalry does get in the way sometimes. Oh wells, this is still the best Sports Comedy ever. Love the goalie hahaha

  • @ryanlesperance777 kurt russell has a cottage in northern ontario.

  • I'm trying to find out the actual song title and artist of one of the songs in Slapshot- it's the country tune that is played a few times over the travel scenes on the Chief's bus. It sounds kinda like Bob Dylan(but isn't). It's not listed in the credits of the movie, does anybody know know what the hell song this is?

  • "A Little Bit South of Saskatoon" by Sonny James? Not too hard to find on CD.

  • Comment removed

  • maxine nightengale sand right back from where we started from, thats one of the songs

  • hahaha my seventh grade history teacher played in this movie.

  • im bored on cam

    lets chat 76

  • Life immitates art, and hockey is art, as anyone knows...

  • Best Paul Newman role and movie.

  • Someone at work said one part of this movie is anti-gay.

  • so what its a hockey movie

  • RIP Coach Reggie Dunlap

    1925-2008

    Classic movie!

  • *Dunlap

  • I'm going to try this again

    DUNLOP...sorry!

  • HOLLYWOOD IS ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT FILMING A REMAKE OF THIS!! SACRILEGE!!

The NY Times actually did an obituary on Reg Dunlop. Go to their site and check it out.

Mr. Newman, congrats on a great career, may you rest in peace. And Reg, may you never hear Lady Of Spain in Heaven. ; )

Now if everybody will please excuse me, I'm gonna watch my Slap Shot 25th Anniversary DVD for the 23rd time.

  • これは茶番だよ!すべてのリメイク方法を曲解しているのは知っている。彼らは遠く、このようなクラシックから、滞在し、これらのリメイクを防止します。

  • It was so nice for Newman to play a character like this. Not Hud, not Fast Eddie, not Frank Galvin, but Reggie Dunlop. A crowd pleasing sports movie that avoided cliches. Paul truly owned Reggie Dunlop and played it just right.

  • dunlop... you suck cock... *newman shrugs and smiles* "all i can get"

classic one-liners in this movie. newman is the man. RIP reg.

  • RIP Paul, a great man, great actor, you will be missed

  • Once, I heard the news of Paul Newmans death I didnt know exactly what to think, he was truly a great man and historic actor. The man is an icon and saying he will be missed is an understatement, whether its Reggie Dunlop, Fast Eddie or Cool Hand Luke, RIP Paul

  • I grew with you Paul...

Have a drink with Marlon and Heath, bro'

    RIP

  • RIP Paul Newman :-(

  • RIP Reg Dunlop. You will be missed...

  • Newman was one man who was beyond "star!" - he was the real deal, an actor who respected and never stopped sharpening his craft.

  • Rest in peace, Paul Newman.......

  • Mr Newman was so cool and funny in this movie he will be missed !

  • That's the problem with movies today - there will NEVER be another Slapshot.

  • omg!! i love this movie

  • Lily Braden: You're bullshit, you're really bullshit.

    Ned Braden: You're drunk.

Reggie Dunlop: You're right, he's bullshit.

Lily Braden: Yeah? Well, he and I are the only decent items in this town

    [Leaves]

Reggie Dunlop: That's great. Why should she care what anyone thinks about her? Shes just scrappin' Hey, how does Braden treat her? Is he nice to her?
