  • That has taken me back to being 15 and me and my mate playing that on max level and with stupid rules like only kill dogs or all kills unarmed very cool stuff. only game really better than this was Turbo Esprit i think? But this vid is ace. Durell software the blue cassette with the copyright warning on it.

AGH! Now they do insurance mortgage and tax... software, I'm going to be sick........

  • Cleared sab 2 as well

  • saboteur II was far harder

  • bad

  • bad

  • Great game ! Completed many times. Now i am trying to imagine someone playing this game today. Hey wtf no MAP ? Only one life ? No saves ? What i'm trying to say is that todays games have nice graphics but you don't need to put much effort :)

  • Good memories

  • saboteur was a class game, i still think about the great games i had on the speccy, it all got a little bit daft after that.

  • MY GOD I SPENT HOURS PLAYING THIS GAME NEVER GETTING PAST THE 1ST LEVEL. THANKS SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS ON ..

  • Well, I can honestly say, that I must have been absolutely shit at playing these games, as much as I loved them (and still love today... great to look back) I must have been really really REALLY bad at them !

  • i remember struggling with this game! If I had my spectrum today, would have tried again!

  • I sent my copy of the game off the durell HQ in somerset because according to the intro screen it was a forgery. i.e. didnt have blue cassette body. I never got the game back nor a reward. was very pissed off.

  • I loved this game - it was something different back in the day.

It looks like Sam Fisher was busy back in the 80's too eh?

  • I remember playing this it was awesome

  • Poor dog :(

  • are there any other levels after this or is it just this one level? hard game dough, congrats

  • no there is 9 levels i got the easy lol

  • Always amazed at the animation of this game!

  • I know this may sounds sad:P

But they copied the cover art of the ninja from the movie Revenge of the ninja.Google it :P

    It even has the emblem.lol

I loved this game.Played it for hrs alongside

    Cauldron,Commando,Treasure Island,Diso Dan,Way of the Eploding fist,and Bruce Lee...

  • @fallingstar6073

Hats off to you sir! you are correct about the revenge of the ninja cover. I never spotted that until you mentioned. thats a good movie.

  • @fallingstar6073 Haha... thats brilliant... Great spot about the Cover art...

  • @fallingstar6073 I don't see anything copied, except that it happens to also be a ninja.

  • I spend first half of 90's playing this on Sinclair ZX spectrum and little old Soviet television.

    Great memories.

  • Oh! Such sweet memories! I used to play this a lot. Still like it. There are such fabulous spectrum remakes, they could do one of this game!

  • thanks for this post!!

  • you just walk this game sucks

  • I had a friend when i was a kid who drew the actual map of the dungeon. It was a bucnh of A4 sheets glued together and the map was really huge! ahh sweet childhood memories!

  • hahaha i remember finding that tram and i was like WOW CHECK THE GRAPHICS! lmao i never realy liked the game much though unfortunately on the speccy i used to play chuckie egg 2 and head over heels mostly =)

  • This game was incredible in his time, and one of the first games in tactical spionage.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa awesome good memorys

  • I dreamt about this game the other night... It was still on the speccy, same look, but somehow in 3D. Like it was running on a speccy/PS1 hybrid, very cool.

I think Saboteur 1 has got a certain something that Saboteur 2 hasn't got - can't quite put my finger on it... Unless I'm talking nonsense, in the first game the sprites are bigger and the framerate is better. Plus I prefer the guards in the first game, with their little caps.

  • I tend to agree with you there; although I enjoyed both and the second one was certainly harder to complete, but the frame rate was smoother on the first Saboteur.

  • Classic, thanks for sharing!

  • Great game on the speccy :) All that sneaking around, awesome.

  • This game is my favorite spectrum game as well. I spent a lot of nights trying to beat it. Ahh, the sweet memories! I would love to see someone attempt a remake of this game with current generation technology. Thanks for posting this clip!

  • whata game i also bought the spectrum mag with the map in it i bought it on the way to school and couldnt wait to get home and do it,eneded up skipping the last lesson and sprinting home so i could do it lol, great game great post well done.

  • Now this was quality.....loved it. Should make a current generation update

  • what a game, really got the imagination going as a youngster!

  • This was my fav spectrum game of all time, I member me dad buying ur sinclair mag, with the map in it, he talked me the whole way through it. good days good days.

He done the same with Jack The Nipper!! one more fav of mine

  • A man with a mission. A Speccy classic I nevered played somehow. Reminds me of a mix between Skool Daze and Way of the Exploding fist.
