Apparently it's getting renewed for a 7th and 8th season, i am not so sure i am happy about that. I like Dexter and i get it every week after watching Seasons 1 to 5 virtually back to back but i think it's starting to drag. I thought Season 5 was dragging a bit and that was me watching one after the other.

Now i have to wait a week between episodes so i can really see this one dragging a bit more than i would like. They are milking it a bit now, great TV series can e damaged by lasting too long

@AdamOKC I never said it would ruin the whole series, i said a TV series that ends up running for too long can be damaged. Take The Sopranos, that was definitely a 6 season series, any more and it could have damaged (NOT RUINED) the entire series by dragging it out too long.

Take Lost for example, that was supposed to be a 4 season series but because it got good ratings they milked it for all it was worth and dragged it out for another 2 seasons, for me this damaged the series.

@Sozlled Actually, i think it's something a bit different, however it's related to what you said. I think they are following certain story arch's (arc's?) for too long before moving on, which explains the "dragging" feeling a lot of fans like you and me get.
