  • This will probably kill my PC much less fit in it! I have a HP elite 400f....if anybody knows those?

  • Confucius say: Don't drop it.

  • I have amd x4 965 3.91ghz,4gb ram ddr3 1600mhz and this graphics card and im happy ;D

  • does tigerdirect ship to europe 'I'm living in Romania but I can also take the package from italy

  • From anyone who is going to buy this; dont.

Long story short; bad drivers. I have it, its a pain in the ass, trust me.

  • @sweffe96 the drivers shouldn't be the problem. they come out with updates every month. maybe you have a bad card.

  • hey people please if some1 can reply it would be very helpfull. i am planning on building my own pc this is what im going to order im not going crazy with the prices but i do want a good gaming pc heres the specs :

    amd phenom ii x 6 3.3ghz

    xfx radeon hd 5870

    asus m4a89GTDPRO motherboard

16gb ram ( i no its a lot but im getting it for a good price cant let a bargain go lol

reply asap (enyone) getting this soon thanks.. :)

  • @celticfureva1 i would get i5 2500k or wait for bulldozer, you won't regret it.

and try to get a 6950 and flash it to a 6970

  • I have a 240 GT plays this game incredably smooth at 1600x945 all full graphics except shadows off. This takes a huge load off the graphic card shadows.

I use no AA But 16x for distance. No problems at all.

    I'm sure a 5870 with a 6x AMD 3.6 will fly in 1080P.

  • GIGABYTE is better

  • I Have one :)

  • Oh man, i love computers

  • how do i get this for a laptop?? o.O

  • @xPancakes4lyf You don't

  • hi i have a question, i have a intel (R)core (tm)2 e8500 3.17 ghz and a 700 watt power supply i have an ati 5870 running on it i was wondering if i could do a crossfire 5870, do i have enough power supply and can my motherboard handle it?

    Thanks :)

  • @leftdead17 if its a good brand psu like antec or corsair then u can run it for sure as long as you have the right connectors and a core 2 duo E8500 will bottleneck the 5870 , I recommend you a core i5 or core i7 or amd phenom 1090t

  • @elias1995ish Ya my 5870 is bottlenecked a bit by my phenom II x4 at 3.7ghz. Not terribly bad but still measurable in benchmarks.

  • @greyfoxzero make that phenom run at 4ghz ;) that will do the job :) or buy an i7 920 , they aren't so expensive nowadays you can find it a 200$ price range :D

  • id rather get 2 6870's and crossfire them than get this card

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCEMF ur wrong... This card is more powerful than a 6870, and it is more expensive... it costs like the same price as 2 6870's so yeah

  • wow so factualy incorect

  • i use a 1920 x1080 screen with an intel GMA 3100 LOL fail...

  • Elijah Wood ?

  • "Compared to the other 5890's" 2:25

  • would an amd phenom 9600 bottleneck this card?

  • what do you think?

    AMD phenom X4 955

Radeon HD 5870 or 5770 (depends on my cash. does 5770 support dx11? ITS IMPORTANT FOR ME!)

4 GB of RAM @ 1333MHz (might upgrade it in the future)

500W psu (will it be enough? should i get better psu if i upgrade it later?)

HDD depends on my MOBO, probably arond 500GB

is this pc ok? i mean i know i will run games well but how long will this pc last?

  • @gabrocki 5870 was the first card to support dx11 fully and its better so go with that for sure and go ahead and get a bit bigger power supply like a 650 I have the same processor with the same ram and a 750gb HDD, the optical drive and bells and whistles but get a reliable psu like corsair not to be like every1 else but it is the best.

  • @gabrocki 5770 supports DX11

  • @xArkania but cant handle dx 11 lol

  • @gabrocki I literally have the same PC as you....955 black edition, i just got this graphic's card...and soon will be investing into a new motherboard and 8GB of 1600 mhz ram....yes the computer is future proof....because its VERY easy&cheap to upgrade....

When you feel you need a new processor....AMD phenom ii x6 ( hex core ) is less then £150!!! so yeah its a good computer....dont invest in intel...unless u got alot of spare cash to spend on upgrades!

  • @S3RB4LIF3 i literally doubt you do, this is my future rig^^ i agree on the intel vs amd part though. btw i was told that a x6 1055T (might get that one instead of 4 cores) wouldnt perform as good as the phenom x4 965 or 955. is that true? why?

  • @gabrocki because games don't use more than two or three cores max. a six core is overkill unless u wanna game, watch movies surf the web and listen to music all at the same time

  • 1:40 Almost dropped the card. Lolz

  • @spezow1234 u lucky motherfucker!

  • XFX ATI Radeon HD5870 1GB Graphics Card PCI-E 5870 ebay

    Item number: 310297241302 £179.99 Postage:Free 2 year warranty

  • THIS ITEM IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE

  • 6970 or 5870? Serious question

  • @bkujamjar duh 6870 is faster but pricewise i picked up two 5870 xfx black editions for $169.99 each from tiger about a month ago on one of their 72hour weekend specials, and these in x fire smoke the 6970 and for cheaper !

  • @joecobra1234 i meant to say 6970

  • IF you go and see the specifications of Ati's cards you will find that it's higher than nvidia's in every thing memory clock core clock every thing but benchmarks say otherwise. thumbs if you agree

  • would this card fit on the p7p55d-e LX motherborad? plz reply quickly..

  • Intel Core i7 930 plus Radeon 5870 ;) I convinced dell to send me this card for free after the original 5670 that the computer came with failed ;)

  • Hes Pretty good at multiplying :D

  • This thing is a fricken beast...cost more than an xbox 360, but's it's worth every penny

  • stupid question: can i connect this with the 4670 using crossfire?

  • @tonyng93

if you have the 5870, you dont need crossfire ;)

  • @spoax ur mom suk my d1ck hoe gtfo fkr

  • plz help....should i buy xfx 5870 or saphire 5870...which 1 is better...!!!???

  • @ixy1987 the performance is the same its the other stuff like warranty u need to consider

  • I was gonna buy this last year and didn't end up building my own pc. After searching this year it's led me back to the same card xD beast

  • @APImma What happened?

  • I am going to have to saw apart my case to fit this thing in when it arrives !

  • im having PROBLEMS with this vga from xfx (i have the different cooler version)

    28-40 fps on gta 4

    40-80 fps on bc2..

    Q9400

  • @FELIPEPKPK Get a different CPU, i think that is the problem.

  • @FELIPEPKPK lool i get around the same in gta4 with my 465 i need a better processor though i got the q8200

  • I miss logan.

  • Agreed!

  • @newnhamlea1 sounds like you'd blow logan if its all you had

  • @joecobra1234 yeah, thats after i'm finished with your mum.

  • @newnhamlea1 fuck logan he sucked Albert all the way!

  • @Mooseguy15 Thank you for that obviously well thought out and intelligent comment.

  • @newnhamlea1

what do you mean ho cares

  • about time you guys started doing video card reviews again but your a bit behind with this card

  • Thats what she said 5:08

  • will this card fit in my RAIDMAX Tornado ATX-238WR Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case?

  • @longdingwongdong Forget the 5870... Get the 6970 :D

  • @DeltaPhi79 why get the 6970 rather than the 5870? the 5870 is only 10 dollars more on newegg.

  • @Klutch2332 Because the 6970 is meant to replace the 5870.

  • @Klutch2332 then the 5870 is overpriced on newegg, the 6970 is prized at over 300 euro, the 5870 starts at 230....

  • im getting this card for christmas, my cpu is a core 2 quad Q8300 @ 2.5Ghz (Stock) will my cpu bottleneck? i cant overclock my cpu, my bios doesnt have the option. if it does what cpu would you recommend? i was looking at a AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE @ 3.2GHz please help thanks!

  • @Sporrtyyy1995 yeah it would bottleneck; spend the extra 20 dollars and get the 970 BE.

  • @1tofallen yeh haha i looked at that cpu just after i posted the comment, its affordable and i think im going to consider it.

  • @1tofallen i also have the same cpu would it bottleneck with a msi cyclone 1gb 460. although i can overclock, thanks for help

  • @Sporrtyyy1995

yup it would bottleneck ,spend extra more dollars and get the 970 BE !

  • STUPID DK COMMERCIAL I CANT TURN OFF!!!

  • no video card review?= unsubscribed

  • tap dancing christ

  • i want to use triple monitor can i use 2 dvi and 1 displayport to dvi adopter ???

  • @ixy1987 well i acutally dueled my 5870 for good frame rates on three 32" monitors and if the monitors are over 23" its best if you duel your card

  • @ixy1987 it depends it has to be an active adapter, check out this, its what i use and it performs great "Sapphire Active DP to SL-DVI-D Adapter Cable"

  • 1.21 jiggawatts !?!?!?

  • will E6500 bottleneck this card significantly??

  • @Mohdrizal1991

    yes!!!!!!!! a lot

  • haha i got it on my asus g73jh laptop haha it is AMAZING play anything on high settings with no LAG!!! haha its crazy

  • @pl725616

The mobility 5870 is just a taste of how powerful the actual desktop 5870 is, it's no where near as powerful.

It truly is an incredible card.

  • @Usul573 yeah my laptop has Radeon HD 5870 video card and its like a 5th of a the desktop version card lol, its amazing!!!!

  • @pl725616

Well, it's about as fast as a 5770, so it's more than half as powerful as a 5870, it's powerful.

  • Could you guys do a benchmark for this card on CoD4 multiplayer please? its a top game and no one seem to do benchmarks on it :'(

    Very informative though :)

  • Comment removed

  • @AshScottWeb

Techpowerup does COD4 for just about any card that comes out.

Definitely don't need something as expensive as a 5870 for COD4.

  • @Usul573 ok then, thanks, whats the avg FPS online with this card??

  • @AshScottWeb

Well techpowerup says at 2560x1600 and maximum in game settings, 90 FPS for COD4.

Not sure what their benchmark is but they try to test the hardest part of the game, online might be faster.

  • 5870 is faster/better than nvidia 295 gtx though, also faster than 470 and just a little slower than 480. But as you know, 480 runs reallly hooootttt. almost 100'c :O and only slightly better preformance

  • could the hd 5870 fit into a mid tower storm scout case?

  • @justinroxu Depends. If you want me to help you out and get you a better answer, PM me :)

  • can this card fit in a mid tower case

  • ati/amd destroyed nvdia with these cards...

  • i have a question i have a gigabyte ga g31m es2c motherboard with on pcie x16 lane can this motherboard handle a 5870 please anwer =)

  • @leftdead17 ur motherboard is a micro atx board so I'd say no the card will block the SATA ports and might interfere with the RAM slots it is a double wide card covering 2 PCI slots maybe ur battery and chipset which would overheat

  • can you suggest a good motherboard for this card??

  • how much is one in america

they cost $439.64 when converted and normally £280.33

  • @Sunny6602 about 400$ for a xfx (i live in canada but the prices are pretty much the same

  • wheres logan?

  • oh man he says 295 !

  • 285 is NOT faster than 5870.

  • 2 more weeks and the AMD 6000 series come out! I should of waited for those xD i went and bought the GTX 480 : I

  • @points2shopPROOF

ehy man. the hd 6800 are the new performance card, but slower than the highend cards HD 5800. So u need to wait for the highend in November (hd 6900)

  • can it fit my dell xps 420 system?

  • @DAFUKKA

    Duh! XD

  • GTX 285, faster than 5870? ah no man ..

  • miss your PC Componets reviews :-<

  • is this the same power you get in the Asus G73 which says it has a Radeon HD 5870 in it but how does this massive thing fit in a laptop?

  • @Kuriousgorge87 in the asus g73 its 5870 mobility it means its a smaller laptop card and of course it isnt the same power as the big desktop card

  • @limpei1 Ah i get it now lol thanks, i just ordered the G73 today for like $1,050 but i went home and saw a recertified version for $900....and now im kinda pissed should i cancel my order? lol its such a hastle i'd have to wait even longer. -_-

  • @Kuriousgorge87 that i wouldnt know. maybe cuz it has other stuffs too? good for u that u live in other country from me where its "cheap" whereas the price in my country would be around 3k

  • what is the minimum power requirements of the 5870 and 5770?

  • tigerdirect please review the 460 gtx

  • I just picked up two of these, hoping they're as good as they say.

  • Comment removed

  • @sharpiesreef They are

  • albert can't stop saying that XFX just started producing ATI cards :)

  • Comment removed

  • i miss albert lol where is he??

  • tigerdirect < Albert

  • WoW just 500w for minimum so good :)

  • Bring Logan back!!!!

  • lol basically like a 4890 but like on steroid WKWKWKWKW

  • he havent done a benchmark in l4d2 i get 150 to 250 fps in l4d2 whit my xfx 5870 1gb

  • i just have a question because i want to get one of these cards but im not really sure if my processor will be a bottleneck to this card? i have a q8300 no OC or anything. please answer :D

  • this is the tiger direct blog i remember not the garbage there doing now i mean just do more of these videos please

  • He's playing left 4 dead 2, on the xbox. xD

  • This card is insanely fast and when not running games or anything graphically intensive it downclocks the frequencies and stays really cool and uses little energy.

I'm running a 5870 and soon to be adding another for a xf setup.

And the noise level is minimal.

    I am happy 5870 owner. :)

  • @zaxis01 hey can you give me 1 too? lol

  • I miss you guys reviewing cards!

  • @tuberoako777 You wont be seeing it again anytime soon or even ever again, albert quit, theres only Bauer left and hes a huge douche ass.. this channel is dead

  • @tuberoako777 logan was the boss :(

  • far cry 2 and bioshock are the only game that utlize hyperthreading. and at higher resolution their is no difference between an intel cpu and an amd cpu. So if your gaming go amd for video editing and benchmarking go intel.

  • Amd phenom ii x6 compete with i7 despite being a generation behind the i7. The phenom ii is 45nm and it's older architecture. Plus when you factor in motherboard amd usually comes out cheaper and the same companies make motherboard for both intel and amd. So the quality is still the same. btw hyperthreading is a technology that allows a computer to see two cores instead of a single core. This is only optimized for certain apps.

  • The gtx 480 is 15% more powerful but use a lot more power and runs a lot hotter. The gtx 480 can consume more power then a 5970 which is a dual gpu. The 5970 is two 5850 not two 5870. The dual 5870 gpu is nicknamed ares which has 4gb of texture mem and is made of all copper. That card overclocks like crazy but cost guess what $1200.

  • I GOT A QUESTION WHY XFX WENT TO ATI?

  • @aldobu1990

    Gee I dont know.

It couldnt POSSIBLY be because they make badass cards. ;P

  • review the 5970!!!

  • yeah i love nvidia with a passion but i am getting 5870 but what if ati comes one with new cards on 2011

  • does anyone know if a pci-e x 16 (2.1) card will work in the 2.0 slot in my motherboard.

  • At the center is the HDMI

On the left it's the display port.

    DVI ports on the right

  • Im getting new pc with these specs,

    Processor: AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.8GHz

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5870

    RAM: 2x 2GT 1333 DDR2

    Hard Drive('s): Raid 2x 1TB

Plz comment, i would like to play mainly Crysis and BioShock 2 on these specs so what do you think i would ge to FPS?

  • @oskulock Research your hard drives, make sure they do well in raid.

Get better ram, preferably corsair dominator, its better for overclocking.

Get a better processor, ie, i7 920; its good for overclocking, or just on its own.

Make sure you have a good board that has good ratings and is compatible with all of you hardware, once again preferably one that is good with OC

    overclock.

  • @judetju I did not as for better computer but thank you, also what is with that i7? Its not good as x6 for anything and its also overpriced, (it cost 100 Euros more than x6, x6 has six cores when i7 has only 4. Also does that mean that x6 would be easier to Clock than i7 when it has built in software to do so?) And there is no game made that needs even 4GT Ram so im going with that now and increase it when the technology evolves and keep my money now. :D Oh yeah, i have a decent AMD Motherboard.

  • @oskulock So you clearly have no idea what you are talking about, i was not telling you to get a better computer, i was merely suggesting that you make sure to get a solid build . You are seriously choosing you processor because of cores? Do some research before you spew your ignorance in the face of others. and its ~80 euros more (not 100) for a reason, ever heard of hyper-threading technology? Btw processors don't have "software built in". You could have just politely considered my advice.

  • @judetju No no no, dont get me wrong, i know Intel i7 is a solid peace of technology, not saying its worthless or anything, but the thing is that im really low on budget so i might not have enought right now to get the processor as i7. And i do know much about computers dont say that i dont please, i just have watched reviews and almost all of them say that x6 is better than i7 in price and power, maybe they are wrong or you are, no offense.

  • @oskulock AM3 motherboards kinda sucl. The x6 is about the same price as an i7 930, but games at the moment are mostly dual core optimised not quad and especially not hexacore..XD I7 also features hyperthreading which allows multitasking and shit, AMD does not. etc

  • good think I bought my 3 days ago :)

  • how much does this bad boy go for?

  • should i buy 5870 or 5970? which one is the more bang for the buck?

  • @66R0

5870 its better every game 60fps^^

  • @Bastian36 but isnt the 5970 more powerfull with 2gpus and 2gbs of memory? and also 200€ extra. So are those 2gpus and 2gbs of memory worth of 200€ ?? And sorry for my bad english :D

  • @66R0

i dont think so cause, i got 5870 and i can play all games on max stats... i can use a tripple screen (3 monitors) and more....

  • @66R0 the driver do not function right for the 5970.

  • this is my graphic card :) i love it all games constantly on 60 fps

  • @Bastian36 what are your specs? and what games you play? I have to buy one, but in brazil its expensive to buy, 1,100(R$) o.O'

  • @victorpaz17

i build my own pc it cost around 1400€, im playing all new games like bioshock 2, assasins creed 2, just cause 2, battlefield bad company 2, modern warfare 2 etc....

    my specs:

    Windows 7 (64-bit)

    AMD Phenom II x4 955 processor (4CPUs) 3,2 GHz

    4Gb Ram

    Directx 11

  • @Bastian36 how does this compare to gtx 470(EVGA) ??any ideas?

  • @hoticeburns

    xfx 5870 is better :D

  • @Bastian36 Thanks man!!!! was having a hard time selecting cause both r equally priced.

  • @hoticeburns I got a GTX470 friend has a XFX HD5870 and trust me the GTX470 is better. No fanboy crap it's not miles better but noticeably so.

  • @Jamaicangmr Thats an honest opinion! thanks man.. now it just comes to price!

  • @hoticeburns Well right now the GTX470 beats it in price aswel.

I checked Amazon where i bought my GTX470 they have them now for US$300 a superclocked for US$347. While the XFX HD5870 costs from US$370 up to US$400. So as of today the GTX470 is cheaper.

  • @Jamaicangmr U just made my choice easier...Thankx man!!! cheers!!!! :-)

  • @hoticeburns Your most welcome.

  • @hoticeburns Tested them both on the my rig and the GTX470 is a bit better performer than this.

  • @Bastian36 you wont to trad
