  • Alton Brown is the Fucking Man

  • i cant believe he said that careme made the five mother sauces he only made 4, escoffier made the tomato sauce..... weak sauce

  • man, those are some GOOD EATS!!!!

  • Alton brown reminds me of how the cute kid from Jerry Mcguire would look like when he gets old.

"did you know the human head weighs 8 pounds?"

  • I love his face and the music when he gutted himself in the sunflower suit.

  • @HarbingerOvBalance Seriously! It was just so unexpected; and the music really added to everything! I couldnt stop laughing when he did that :D

  • haha b2 steak sauce

  • I still like dominos pizza though. Sorry.

  • He should be on TV more. I would trust him for the same reason I would trust.... well I dont think its a good example... but McDonalds. I'm American, I have found my outlet, I don't care and I don't like change. When he says that roof shingles are good on a skillet, I'll be there at the nearest hardware store looking for my next meal. No need for more food shows. Just make him the king of food propaganda.

  • He's Awesome...I just wish I could find such an informative show w/ out the shannanigans..But those "shanannagans help your brain to remember the info..

  • It's too bad he misspronounces the french word 'fond'.

The 'd' is silent. It means "basis" or "bottom" from the word foundation (same meaning in english)yet pronounced in french. Not to be confused with font (which means 'doing')

There's no examples I can give for the sounding of " ont, ond and on" in french using english-sounding words.

  • ~ Im 19 and I can cook, bake, and love to create random artworks :D ~

lol episode is kinda blurry makes me dizzy x.x

  • @ibcrootbeer1 i've been cooking since 5

  • Love the show and all the tips you give me Alton.

  • ok, I am declaring that I only have 2 crushes. 1 is Alton Brown b/c who doesn't love a man who can act and use a camera but can still cook for you and Dan Jordan just b/c he's hot and he's a trombone player and trombone players are HOT!!!!

  • does anyone else think that the fact that he knows how to cook is really hot? LOL, I know.. I'm a wierdo. But I would LOVE if my husband knew how to cook like him!

  • My wife loves my cooking :D

  • I love this show Alton Brown along with Jaques Torres (spelled wrong T_T) are my Idols! I love their fun approach to food. My dream is to become a Pastry Chef. And that is one suicidal flower/plant/man thing XD

  • kamakazi flower!

  • Thats beautiful. You just inspired some song lyrics.

  • alton brown is gangsta

  • HAHA B2 sause

    A1-->B2

  • Yeah, in "Food Network Unwrapped" they mention that they have to do that so that other brands can't sue them claiming they're giving one brand 'free advertizing or product placement' over another.

  • this guy always reminds me Adam Sessler for some reason.

  • The sunflower is rather horrific. A suicidal sunflower...but grabbing a knife and slashing itself to show starch!

  • Alton Brown is the reason I started cooking! He's so factual on the show, and I just love to listen to his stuff!

He's the Bill Nye of cooking!

  • Agreed.

  • Cheers to your OCD!!!!

  • @Gar2195 "Bill Nye of cooking." I like that.

  • @Gar2195 And Ben Nye is the Paul Zaloom (BEEKMAN) of Disney ripoff artists. (OH, I love Alton, though, he's 100% original)

  • @Gar2195 Haha, I've said the exact same thing XD

  • Alton is the best! Easily the best show on the Food network which sucks now. It was a fun channel about 10 years ago. Bring back the original Iron chef! The American version is trash.

  • yeah the japanese version was better, but i still like the american one kind of and alton is my fav i learn tons from his shows

  • haha i love that guy!

  • b2 steak sauce lolololol

  • Haha, the "suicidal sunflower"... my favorite good eats prop yet.

  • I only have 3 tablespoons of know-how, sorry Alton Brown

  • I love the random ways Alton explains things such as is shown at 7:00

  • Kamikazi sunflower

    lol

  • I think you mean 'seppuku sunflower'.

  • but thats another show...i love that

  • I know cast iron is generally not a good sauce pan but the seared steak recipe (see "stake your claim") is delicious on it's own. Any thoughts on making the steak sauce using the steaks from pan seared recipe?

  • anyone knows why he prefer using beef broth to stock? i often tiems make stock rather than broth made of diffrent parts of meat.

  • Well I'm just guessing he wants flavor and not just liquid, he is cooking Beef after all

  • The Eiffel Tower wasn't around in 1813

  • who cares

  • Ya but it's Alton Brown, anything for an educational laugh right?

  • LMAO b2 steak sauce i almost died of laughter

  • the first "thing" is a right hand, and the second, a left hand...

  • and miles to go before we eat

  • B2 steak sauce lmao!

  • 7:03 - 7:45 LOL

  • what kinda flour did he use

  • he recommended arrowroot starch

  • but A.B i love B2 steck sauce lol

  • ahem... I love you Alton, but there was no Eiffel Tower [check the background for the french saucier] in the first half of the 19th Century.

  • like foghorn leghorn said "that's a joke...i say that's a joke son"

  • how else is the average american supposed to know they're in france?

  • The beret and French music?

  • Most people aren't that cultured, even among Food Network viewers.

  • I like how they fit the theme song in other parts of the shows music.

  • b2! hahahaha! a nice spin on A1

  • OMG The sunflower suit! Except it makes him look a little like Ethel Merman. It's the strategic placement of those damn leaves at the neck. hahahaha

  • Notice how he kinda does that scene as if it were a school play?

  • b2- a1

  • Alton says the setting is "France, 1813". But the Eiffel Tower is in the background, which wasn't built until 1887.

  • On another note... The Eiffel Tower was not to be a permanent structure. It was put up for the world's fair that year, and it was such a hit they left it up. (I'm going to see it on the 17th of Dec.)

  • It happens. Sue him.

  • B2 steak sauce hahaha!!!

  • I've seen B2 in other pervious eps... I love it!

  • He always keeps some in his fridge.

  • I Fancy myself a good Sauce & Gravy Maker

  • lol 'B2' steak sauce

  • Thanks LTH!

  • Haha, that's the coolest kamikaze flower ever.

  • Actually that's called sebaku.

  • Kamikaze in terms of suicidal, and it's actually spelled seppuku =)

  • And 'Kamakazie' is a term for Japanese suice bomber pilots. You're probably refering to 'Hari-Kiri' (another term for seppuku or sebaku). KAMAKAZIE = AIRPLANE CRASH. SEPPUKU = SELF-DISEMBOWLING

  • Ahh '75, good year!

  • Kamikaze is traditonally translated as divine wind not airplane crash. True Kamikaze were the suicide pilots from WWII but that's not what the word translates to. Please educate yourself before you spew retardedisms.

  • You spelled suicide and kamikaze wrong. Way to go. Seppuku refers specifically to opening your stomach with a knife while your most trusted friend decapitates you to reduce your pain, it's used to end your life but still maintain honor. Hara-Kiri can be suicide in general. Kamikaze was a Japanese attack method where a damaged plane or one that had used up it's payload of munitions would ram into the target. It translates as "Divine Wind," and was a feared method of attack.
