It is the writers' fault for taking such beloved characters and leaving them in a such a negative light at the end of their storylines. When Rob and Anna were leaving, they showed them being killed in an explosion and they were further endeared to the fans. Then they came back later with their characters still intact. This did not happen with Frisco and Felicia and my frustration lies with the writers more than the characters. Such a sad way to leave a beautiful couple!
@ladyofmyheart and i see your point and agree with you totally. they also could have given f&f offscreen relationships with their children. i wasn't watching gh after JW left the second time in 91, but i know enough to know that writers didn't do much to protect their legacy (after 1995/Jack's last appearance).
you are right, salimah, about Frisco never not loving Felicia. And JW's decision to leave had to written into the storyline but I wish that could have did it a little differently so that Frisco's compassion and love for his family wouldnt have been as tarnished toward the end. No doubt he did love them, but they could have written it differently other than him just choosing the WSB over his family. The way that Fel left M and G with Mac--that made her look like a bad mother.
thanks for posting this! It was a beautiful scene, but Frisco and Felicia probably didnt even know at this time what their life would turn out to be when they did have a baby. It is sad in a way, because if they would have been able to keep the kind of love they have here in this scene, or rather if Frisco could have, they could have lived happily ever after with Maxie.
@ladyofmyheart i don't think frisco's love is ever in question. the hard fact is writers had to negotiate JW's decision to leave. so we have to make our peace with the complexity of frisco's simultaneous need to support adventurous causes and to love his family. If it weren't for JW's decision, I don't think "frisco" as a character would have ever left, or he would have found a way to have both. real life makes the make-believe story a little sticky. But frisco loves felicia no matter what.
The scene in front of the nursery window is the reason that I wanted to post this series of clips. It doesn't get any more cute and adorable, especially in light of their real life relationship. "Do you think we will have a baby someday?" "Well, I don't see why not." Exactly! .....Oh, and have I mentioned that I LOVE Jake Meyer?!
What a beautiful scene! The happiness from our favorite Jones' family.
