Pierce was initiating the contact because he had to MOVE his feet to get Hamilton to touch him. And even if you don't wanna call it an offensive foul, it would be a travel anyway.

The last call was terrible, but you're a homer fan boy for the first two. Pierce pump faked, got Rip into the air and then moved to his right and into his path. That is a good call. The second call, Pierce's foot obviously trips Hinrich. It may be an accident, but it's still a foul. The final call was all kinds of terrible, but it's the NBA. We should all be used to the terrible calls by now.

1. Paul Pierce offensive foul It IS an offensive foul. The pistons player jumped and he was not projected to hit Paul Pierce because he had gone to the left of him. When Paul Pierce decided to travel and get in his way, not allowing his opponent to land, it became one.

Paul did indeed trip Hinrich. Watch it on the reply, he runs by and hits his right leg, into his left. Watch it closely.

The first two are competely coreect calls. Pierce travels and then creates unnecessary contact, I would call it offensive too. Since when does getting someone to bite on an upfake mean you can jump into them like everyone in the NBA does now and get an And 1? Its ridiculous.

And the Hinrich call has been debated in slow motion over and over. Pierce hits his foot with his foot causing Hinrich to lock his legs up.  Impossible to see at real time, but Pierce did cause him to trip.
