  • Seriously m8. How pissed off are people about this vid? And why? You are taking such a caning on the virgin page! I thought you could have been alot harder given what you were filming. Did you hold back? If you did why? And why are people gunning for you now?

  • There are alot of possible reasons reasons why. They might genuinely hate it. They might resent the popularity with the public. I'm told that the same people who berate Friday cast favourable comments to the same films. By contrast the people who have made favourable comments of Friday also made favourable to others so it doesn't take a genius to see what is going on in some incidences. Then there are the ones who look in the mirror and don't like what they see.

  • Never underestimate the power of a home truth. The important thing to us is that it isn't being ignored. If five people had watched it I'd be unhappy. Alot fo people have watched it and reacted and that's the best we could have hoped for.

In answer to your other questions yes we did hold back in the edit. The competition was to present a PG rated film so we were quite draconian in the final edit and left alot out that we might otherwise have utilised.

  • Ultimately I don't think this was a bad thing as we still got the point across. Or one of them. Everyone has homed in on the drink problem, but for us there was alot more to it than that. People overindulging was an obvious symptom but it wasnt the root. We had no "script" as such so we had to make a point using imagery, and were not, perhaps, as successful as we might have liked to be in that respect. Perhaps we were too subtle?

  • I'm not sure why people are "gunning" for us still. The competition is over, we were never seriously in the running, and if I'm right, the winner has been declared. Beyond that I neither know nor care. I stopped caring about two days after it was uploaded. We contacted Virgin about some problems with the members' page and they never replied. We realised then how serious they were about it so that's as far as we went.

  • I get emails from colleagues and messages here about how we are doing and what's been said, but really as long as people are watching and reacting nothing else matters much.

Of course we'd prefer constructive criticism as we still have much to learn, but we can smile in the knowledge that if people are that vexed by it then we must have hit a nerve.

    Job done, I'd say...

  • What are you trying to say? That people drink too much?

  • What do you think we are trying to say?

  • That people drink too much and act like idiots?

  • Well, that's it if that's what you think it is.

  • I have been watching the activity on the Virgin site. There are some very good films on there, yours among them. There is also a considerable amount of dross. What disgusts me most is the complete lack of moderation. Yours is one of many that have come under fire, always by the same cowards hiding behind random initials. Is there nothing that can be done? The things they are saying are terrible and most unfair.

  • It's a page that has deficiencies in design, but to be honest I think too many people are taking it way too seriously. Far moreso that Virgin themselves. As for the comments, who cares? I haven't read them and to be honest, unless they are giving us constructive advice I wouldn't bother. The kind of flame wars being propagated are reminiscent of teen playground bitchfests and really life is way too short. The film was a cheap project spontaneously done. It really isn't worth all that fuss!

  • Think this is really good. Can't believe the amount of crap you're taking on the Virgin page. You're doing really well in the ratings though so I reckon it's all the morons whose films are taking a pasting trying to attack you. Why don't you reply though? Not like you not to weigh in.

  • What would be the point in engaging in that kind of flame war? The people making the digs are obviously kids who have their own projects in the competition. Who the hell wants to get into an arse kicking contest with a legless moron? We made this in a few hours and entered at the last minute on a whim. It doesn't have any realistic chance of getting through let alone winning, but we're amazed by the support, and the intelligent comments and criticisms that teach us. Who cares about the idiots?

  • If you don't think it has any chance of winning why enter?

  • Seemed like a good idea at the time. Since then we've found the reactions to he incredibly funny, and our hope that we might put a cat among a few pigeons has been borne out.

Now while a £30k budget wouldn't be sniffed at, we really didn't care what happened once it was uploaded and haven't been back to the page. We only know about the rucks because we've had messages about them.

It's not being ignored. For a clip with no dialoge and little narrative, that's pretty good, wouldn't you say?

  • Awesome! So well done. Best of luck in the competition!

  • The music is hot and I enjoyed how it blends with the world we live in.
