I have an extremely detailed unboxing, review and comparison of the newest W510 mobile workstation. It has all the same specs as the w700ds, just a smaller LCD and one less hard drive. RAM, CPU, etc all stays the same. W510 is SMALL.
My review is for the more serious buyers. It is on my channel, here:

Not trying to spam, just letting you guys know there is finally a super-detailed review of the Lenovo workstation series laptops.
of course it's a prototype... the back of the screen is silver, whereas the finished product is black. this is not geared towards home users people, this is a mobile workstation. photographers, software designers, graphic designers, geologists etc... the pull out screen is so you have a full 17" WUXGA screen to view your project and you can keep the palettes and toolbars on the 10.1" wide pull out

Good quick review of the w700ds.

Why not just make a bigger screen? This is completely useless. How about a folding, multi-part screen?
Kev50027 3 years ago
this way you can have your 16:9 screen and on the side a smaller screen to use msn, watch tv, read news...

i dont see what the app for this would be ...

It's meant for Photoshoppers. Pallets and toolbars go on the smaller screen, leaving the larger screen free for the document one is working on.

LOL. Can you also pull out a knife, can opener, saw, etc?

This isn't a Vitorinox knife, but it would be extraordinarily lame... I even don't get the point of the slide out monitor...
