Al Lewis (the guy who later plays Officer Leo Schnauser) the only difference was that the one I watched she was holding up the building of the new entrance to the George Washington Bridge!!
This was filmed at the old Biograph studios on E. 177 st . Molly Picon was an old time actress in Yiddish theatre . At the time this was filmed, she was staring on broadway in the orig. cast of the Musical " Milk and Honey".
Co-op City was built several years later. Additionally, some of the land was the old Freedomland amusement park. I don't think any of it was old tenements.
The original one was called "I Won't Go". It was broadcast in 1961 and Al Lewis played "Al Spencer" the building contractor

mollie picon, famous star of yiddish theater and film. ( she actually did yiddish films in poland in the 1930's!!)
