what are the pickups on the g400 custom like, i bought one yesterday from ebay for £200 without trying them before lol so im kinda trying to find out lol, its an sg so it should be good, right?
Sorry for the late reply, you probably already have your SG by now. In my opinion, those pickups on that guitar struggled to give me the clean tone that I wanted; it was fine on a dirty channel. I recently bought an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II with the Nanomag acoustic pickup. Much more suited to my taste, and it can dirty in a hurry too.
extreme, by virtue of having asked the question, I would say you did fine. When you come to know what it is you are looking for in a guitar (type of wood, pickups, etc), then I say spend your hard earned money. I know this NOW after going through about a dozen guitars in a year. But, I haven't lost money, bought quality that would resell or trade.
each one has your only answer. i preffer epiphone

Thank you for showing the world that squire makes decent guitars. Its the player not the guitar thats important.

Best $100 I ever spent LOL! It just "feels" nice! I'll train on the bullet, and when I have something fairly smooth, I'll break out the SG.
