This isn't quite the same, but my name is Philip. It really bugs me when people I know write my name out (as in a note or letter to me) and spell it P-H-I-L-L-I-P. I've even received birthday cards from separate relatives that I see every so often wherein my name is spelled with 2 L's. Sigh.

I once went to a christmas party. The person at the door had to ask me three times what my last name was, because she kept forgetting it while looking for my name badge.

I have had a couple of name problems, but a couple of times, it's not the name. It's how people speak, or, as is becoming too common these days.

Like:

DANI which should be spelt DANNI or DANNY

Only one N, and it changes how the A sounds.

This is only one example, and no, my name is not Danny or Danni, it's Foz. and people still get that wrong.

Well, my name is Javier, so you can imagine my scenarios.

1. Almost nobody ever pronounces it correctly. The horrible manglings of my name don't even bother me anymore.

2. When people do get it right, always remember it. That sucks because I'm TERRIBLE with names. People come up to me and say "Hi, Javier!", and I'm like "Hi ... you?"
