This isn't quite the same, but my name is Philip. It really bugs me when people I know write my name out (as in a note or letter to me) and spell it P-H-I-L-L-I-P. I've even received birthday cards from separate relatives that I see every so often wherein my name is spelled with 2 L's. Sigh.
My name is Nicole ._. and my brother and father won't get over the fact my best friend couldn't pronounce my name when we were four years old and said "Pla-tole" instead.. *sighs* oh the joy of names.
my name is gabriela -.- hate it so i tell people to call me gabby. 2 b's please! ive had a few friends call me gabsters before. some can't even spell my name. it doesn't matter just never EVER write my name like this ga[b]y. 1 b no! gavi, gabbi, gabs, whatever just never EVER gaby. I BLAME YOU AUNT GABBY!!! >O<
I once told someone my name was MEL and they said .... "can you spell it" !!! Of course I said " yes I can .... How 'bout you?" ... thinking of changing my name to xyzychyzxyy :)
I do not usually have this problem because my name is Robert aka Bob LOL :) Nadine is up there with Meiranda in my book. Thank you very much for this wonderful video.
oh, I was referring to when you said you don't pronounce your name in French anymore because people don't seem to grasp it. so I thought you meant the pronounciation you'd been using in this video.
I'm Australian and currently living in Canada. Lots of Canadians have a hard time understanding me.. but then again, plenty don't.
I once went to a christmas party. The person at the door had to ask me three times what my last name was, because she kept forgetting it while looking for my name badge.
nadine , like the girl from bc? or just a coincidence? haha well my name is julio and every I said my name the people ask me the same stupid question , julio like julio iglesias¿?¿? wtf
My name is Flavia (the first A is long) and people pronounce it Flav so it rhymes with chav (short A). It's pronounced like that normally in spanish though.
wouldn't the french pronunciation of Nadine be Nadine? or do the french have to pronounce everything weird? and yes I sometimes have to tell people my name more than once, after the third time I just make something up
There was a girl in my elementary school with the same name as you. I think she pronounced the A short, as in Hat. I never had trouble with it personally.
nay deen is not hard to pronounce because that's the pronunciation in english and people still screw it up but it's harder when it pronounced in french
My family name is Houde so in French, people don't have any problems but the only way English peoples can understand how it's pronounced is when I make the comparison with the hood of a car
Well, my name is Javier, so you can imagine my scenarios.
1. Almost nobody ever pronounces it correctly. The horrible manglings of my name don't even bother me anymore.
2. When people do get it right, always remember it. That sucks because I'm TERRIBLE with names. People come up to me and say "Hi, Javier!", and I'm like "Hi ... you?"
Well, maybe because I used to have an Aunt named Nadine, but It never seemed that difficult of a name. And anyway, somewhere I got the impression that you actually pronounced it Nuh-deen-uh?
Hahaha I love how "Anne" was just waving about, and Michelle is just staring off... It's true though. People like ME are horrible with names. I'm sorry Natalie.. it's a flaw.
Argh, my name is Nadine too!!! O_O Except people either say Nahdeen or Nadia or even more horrifying... they just go "um.... Who are you again?!"

Alice is a bad name because people seem to think I'm called Alex, or Ellis for some reason XD
If it's Alex, I don't bother correcting them. They sound similar enough anyway and it's funny when people get it wrong lol.

the French pronounciation would be "Na-dine" not "Nay-dine", I think you mean the French-Canadian pronounciation.

Nurdine, sorry to hear your problem ;)
I have had a couple of name problems, but a couple of times, it's not the name. It's how people speak, or, as is becoming too common these days.
Custom spelling of names !!!
Like:
DANI which should be spelt DANNI or DANNY
Only one N, and it changes how the A sounds.
This is only one example, and no, my name is not Danny or Danni, it's Foz. and people still get that wrong.
IT'S ONLY THREE LETTERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
