  • I WANT THIS GUITAR! too bad i'm broke.

  • He plays acoustic guitar like an electric so he's not really asking the guitar questions that a singer songwriter or player in a folkband would be asking.. I'm a big fan of the acoustasonic amp - got three of them, but this doesn't tell me what I need to know.

  • this would be a nice guitar to have during live gig situations. =D

  • Andy's voice would make a great dj voice, just sayin

  • Are these US made?

  • omg when i saw this i was like one day, i am gunna get one, i mean it looks amazing and plays like a dream <3 thx pgs

  • Bucketheadish?

  • Hey what amp are you using? Do you recommend a electric amp like a blues jr or an acoustic amp like a acoustasonic jr amp?

  • What's the song at 4:45? Or is it just improv, cause it's pretty badass

  • What the Amp. in this clip , Ultra sound ?

  • Thanks for an excellent demo. Damn...thought I had all the guitars I needed, but I can really see this one being useful. I wonder though if there's any scope for fitting a standard bridge tele pickup? I know it wouldn't sound exactly the same without the tin tray, and maybe the wiring/controls would get too complex to use live, but do you have any thoughts on whether it could be doable?

  • For some reason the guitar in this demo sounds really dead to me. It sounds like either the strings needed to be replaced long ago or the tone knob is completely turned off. Neither of which is probably true. I have a Fender acoustasonic stratocaster that sounds way better than this tele, but is probably not as versitile. I own several strats, teles, and Martins so I have many options to accquire the sound that I want. The tele demoed here might benefit someone who does not own a guitar.

  • Man, people need to relax. This thing is not intended to replace your NOS Custom Shop Tele or your Martin D-45, and Fender didn't manufacture it just to piss you off. I'm a true Tele purist, but I would still find something like this extremely useful. Will it ever sound like a real Tele or mic'ed J-200? No, but I can't imagine how great it would be to play solo acoustic shows on one of these. Piezo through a PA is always going to sound like piezo through a PA, so you might as well play a Tele!

  • Now I can play 'Stairway to heaven' with a single guitar! YAY

  • Very good demo! PGS. Well done. May I ask how you achieve this stereo result. Do you need 2 amps? Are there special cables needed? I am an owner of a Fender resonator FR50CE with a Tele pickup and piezo. I wonder if I can create a stereo effect like this. Maybe you can demo this fr50ce by chance? Greetings from the Netherlands.

    Sjaak

  • @SjaakShirly6559 - Yes, you would either need two amps or one dual-channel stereo amplifier for true stereo operation. The Acoustasonic comes with a split stereo cable for this purpose. And yes, according the info from Fender you can do the same thing with the FR50CE. Thanks!

    -PGS

  • I gotta have one of those !!!!....I think it will help me out with my finger fatigue I go thru playing an acoustic 4 hours a night !!!

  • lol "modern c-shape".. it's not modern at all. The neck is almost as fat as a nocaster!

  • wow you can get some great Tele classic sounds on clean and electric

  • @James57433 How!!! , the construction/wood are different and theres no bridge pick up.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos, who ever is running the youtube responces is a true gentleman, tolerating the anoymous slander and flame with calm benevolence. I know that can't be easy day in, day out. So i wanted you to know it's wonderful you a) respond at all, and, b) hold such civilised grace.

    Well Done.

  • @jumpshipdrown - You're too kind. Thanks for noticing.

    -PGS

  • I was just telling myself the other day how cool it would be if PGS had acoustic demos...and then I found this haha.

  • Tried one , two weeks back...for me these sound NOTHING like electro acoustics, or if i'm being generous, maybe the worst electro acoustic you've ever heard. Electrically, the neck pick up sounds nothing like the neck pu on either of the 2 teles i have, it maybe quite useable but its not what you expect, probably down to the body construction. Its a horrible guitar and will be as succesful as Fender semis were!!

  • Jesus jumped-up Christ in a go-cart. Can't anyone pronouce piezo correctly? It's PEE-AY-ZO. Not PIE-ZO. Go smack your science teacher (and Greek teacher) in the mouth, and return your GED. You failed. PEE-AY-ZO, from the Greek word "piesis", meaning pressure. Say it slowly. Let it sink in.

  • @MongoLloydd - Technically it's pronounced more like PIE-EE-ZO, derived from the Greek "piezein", meaning "to sit on, or press". But hey, we're just guitar players! Pardon our tomfoolery. Thanks!

    -PGS Crew

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos thats true i am from Greece and its piezo (πιέζω)!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos I love how in most of your vids your response to people that defy yout intelligence is so....awesome.... you guys are awesome.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Well it's certainly not pronounced PIE-ZO... -_-

  • Comment removed

  • @MongoLloydd it's pronounced pee-ett-zo

  • @MongoLloydd Regions, nationalities and origins make us all different. Enjoy it!

  • @MongoLloydd

Actually, how you pronounce it depends where you live! Here in the UK it's pronounced: "peet - zo". I could give you all the grammatically correct reasons for that (according to the Oxford English Dictionary, in which the English language is embodied) but what the heck, anybody outside the UK will argue with that and say that their version is correct! It is what it is and pronounce it whichever way you want, I'm sure you're not bothered if it's "correct" or not!!

  • hmm can i wander if a bridge pickup will fit...

  • that sounds good

  • I love ProGuitarShop guitar demos...they really can show what the guitar can do.

  • @TheGuitarTheory yeah this is the only review that I've seen where they do the "Acoustic dry and Electric heavily proccessed" which I have used for this guitar and I think it's one of the cool new things about it, .

  • Could someone please tell me what songs Andy was playing in this vid??

  • Are there any decent quality y cables out there for guitar? comparable to regular good quality guitar cables?

  • i want one !!!

  • I freakin want this.

  • I wonder if you could fit a pickup into the bridge?

  • Have you seem the ibanez montage. What do you think? Perhaps the ibanez sound moré acoustic?

  • I didn't think that this weird electric guitar could sound so good.

From what I have seen in this video, it's safe to say that this is a perfect guitar for a beginner and a professional player at the same time.

You have the clean, mellow sound of an acoustic guitar and the electric sound by just flicking a switch.

    Great demo.

  • finally a review by someone who has chops on the guitar

    nice work

  • wow thats really realistic compared to say a taylor t5

  • I'm sorry, perhaps that's obvious, but can we input this guitar to an electric guitar amp ? Or just on amps for electro-acoustic guitars ?

  • Sounds awesome! GIEF!

  • I actually like this guitar but it is a bit of a gimmicky thing.Apart from how it plays,I doubt whether it would hold it's value and I would only buy one if I had a spare 700 odd pounds lying around and was adding to a collection, beside which getting a good modelling amp like a Line 6 can prettty much give me all the sounds I need.

I love gadgets and gizmos ..but not on my instruments.I like to keep it pure as possible.. well as real.

  • All this is fantastic but I dont travel with two amps, just the one. How does the acoustasonic sound through a standard mono amp ?.

Ive seen a few people ask but no one answer yet ?.

  • Wow , O_O Nice Playin Dude !!!

  • if u play this without an amp does it sound the same as it would for an acoustic or a regular telecaster

  • it would be so much better if it had a bridge pickup... but i still want one.

  • i take back what i said about that schecter this IS the coolest guitar ever

  • Hey Andy, if you use mono, how do the acoustic sounds sound coming out of an electric amp? Also, were you using stereo or mono mode in the demo? Thanks.

  • @reeder135 - For the demo we used the included Y-cable to split the signal into stereo, sending the acoustic signal direct and the electric signal into the Fender Deluxe Reverb.

  • i would no doubt buy this if it had a bridge pickup. would be so good for live shows.

even if it didn't have the neck pickup

  • i would no doubt buy this if it had a bridge pickup. would be so good for live shows.

even if it didn't have the neck pickup

  • ooops, i meant the gretsch malcom young. HOLLA

  • i got this guitar,red. It's my #1

  • Are you supposed to put electric or acoustic strings on this? LOL

  • Electric if you want the neck pickup to work

  • Lol, good question.

  • This guitar is sooo unique, I really want it.... Great tone.

  • Comment removed

  • Once again, Andy is the king of making even the oddest things seem irresistable. This is resistable, but only because it lacks a tele bridge pickup. If it had that in addition to the acoustic stuff, it would be something to buy. Would make live shows a lot simpler.

  • what a strange but fascinating guitar

  • What song is he playing at 2:18 onwards?

  • If they could make it so that there was a dual source acoustic pickup rather than just a piezo, I would actually consider this thing. Piezos sound too quacky, even through a nice acoustic guitar amp. Also, the lack of a Tele bridge pickup excludes so many rockers out there...

  • I'm with you on the quacky piezo pickup, but I gotta say, I actually like the tone from the neck pickup. At least when running alongside the piezo. I wonder what the results would be if you ran the piezo output into a Fishman Aura or something comparable. Might "flesh" out the sound and remove the quackiness.

  • yeah if it had a tele bridge pickup then it would be a huge seller. and maybe like a two or three way switch to switch from acoustic to electric

  • @ruffles272 A normal three Tele switch with a piezo on/off switch and it would be golden.

  • andy you are the best :)

  • No bridge pickup? I'm out.

  • Don't confuse it with a traditional Telecaster. This guitar is unique, it's made to get clean acoustic like sounds that a traditional Tele can't get. I saw a demo of this guitar at the NAMM Show. This guitar sounds great live.

  • the price? someone knows ? aprox.

  • my God....i never liked these acoustic/electric stuff.....but Fender has done it!!! this guitar sounds like a acoustic better then a lot of acoustics i tried ( piezo speaking of course ).....wouldn´t come in handy when trying to pickup girls on the beach though :)))

  • @Gruhak good you mentioned piezo speaking :D

yeah i would definetly use this guitar live for acoustic sounds

    not at recording of course

  • This sounds better than my acoustic.

  • Holy crap, Fender totally made this for me.

  • 5:49 ~ 6:41... nothing else to say... incredible sound.. amazing playing! excellent way to demonstrate the true sound of a Tele!

    Greetings, Andy!

  • I JUST FOUND MY DREAM GUITAR!!!

  • the looper part at the end is amazing! Its so cool to have both acoustic and electric textures in one guitar, especially when you can layer them.

  • Beautiful tune at the end :)

  • that acoustic sound is great

  • damn, that is one of THE coolest guitars e've ever seen. now to locate $1,000

    ~Bungee

  • at 03:00 it hears like fly away from lenny kravits

  • This probably has to be the first Telecaster I would ever consider buying. I have never been a big fan of the Tele but this thing sounds amazing.

  • cool, better than the epiphone ultra II

  • great guitar and nice jam at the end!

  • what's the neck radius on this? it looks flatter and wider too.

  • 9.5 inch

  • The Edge needs one of these, haha

  • that sounds like as good as it can get when looking at acoustic sounds with pickups

  • What's the effects being used between 4:32-5:39?

Is it just the mix between the acoustic and electric sounds on the guitar?

To me it sounds like some kind of delay/tremolo thing?

  • sounds like the neck pickup signal is going thru delay and tremolo.

  • Pretty cool. I dig my Nashville Power Tele with Fishman piezo's on the Saddles and Stereo out more though.

  • wow... great sound on it

  • very gud review Andy! :)

  • Andy blows me away with his diversity as a guitarist! He rock any style (almost)!

  • I know. We all love you, Andy.

  • Very good review, 5 stars.

    Robin :o)

  • can you put a regular pickup in an acoustic guitar or do you have to use an acoustic pickup?

  • I'd love to hear a comparison between this, and a regular electric piezo saddle.

  • Great demo Andy, I really enjoyed your playing in this one.

    Ciao

  • hey Andy, are you using a certain drive pedal at 6:06, while jamming on an electric, or are you using a tube amp? or neither? or both?

  • 3:20..... just nice... how much for the Andy?

  • Yeah, I agree with a lot of the others. The acoustic sound just isn't worth the whole guitar. I'm a big tele fan, and an acoustic fan as well, but I think you could just have a piezo on a regular tele and get the same thing as well as all your tele sounds. Parker does it. Anyway, Andy rocks as always.

  • Tinny, hollow, but different and interesting. I wouldn't buy a whole guitar just to get THAT sound. Andy knows how to play it, for sure!

  • A Tele with no magnetic bridge p/u seems to me to be no Tele at all....

  • Comment removed

  • This guitar would be ideal for musicians that don't want to bring their prized acoustic/electric to the gig...very impressive, Andy!

  • not digging the guitar.... i like andys playing, but not liking the sound of this guitar....

  • Fantastic demo Andy!

  • sounds a little too tinny...me no likes

check out the PRS Hollowbody II with Piezo option...played one on a gig...i flipped my shit after a bit with it

  • kill-er!!

  • I will buy one... I'm in love with this guitar

  • great guitar and great playing too

  • Thats awesome!

  • that stereo separation thing is awesome!

  • Nice guitar saw it in guitar mag

  • Wow I want this guitar!!

  • Wow, I didn't like this one honestly.. The acoustic sounds are very (typically piezo) ploinky and if you only have the neck pickup for electric sounds, you'll miss the tightness you sometimes need for drive tones. You could pop piezo saddles into any guitar and do something like this!

  • Ah, there it finally is! I've been eying this thing when I first heard about it a few months back!

  • I would like to use this guitar during a live performance.

  • the magic of piezo

  • fantastic

  • nice playing andy...

this guitar is awesome i want it

  • brilliant looping man, that end was pretty as all hell

  • 5:49 AMAZING!! Absolutely beautiful.

  • Holy crap, amazing use of the looper and guitar features at the end there! This is why you're the best at this, you not only know all the features but also how to use them to maximize their potential! (by this I mean demo videos)

  • GAS!

  • i think thats awesome i want one

  • this is magical

  • amazing guitar. not really a fender guy but i love this guitar.

  • Great playing Andy!

Love the tone of the guitar

  • Does this use regular electric or acoustic strings?

  • steel strings.

It's great how Fender is being innovative :]

  • wow the stereo seperation sound awesome ! I like the fact that the price is too high for a novelty like that, it's probably not amercian made but its look awesome anyway. Nice playing as always Andy!

  • and whats the problem with it not being american made? there's almost no different, just the price tag... especially against MIJ stuff

  • wow. sounds incredible... plus andy's playing is phenomenal.

  • You should loop more in your guitar videos. Hehe. Great job, Andy!

  • Right on!! =D

  • really nice guitar, nice playing btw, God Bless

  • I suppose it's good for practicality. When you want an acoustic sound but don't like having the big body of an acoustic, makes stage movement awkward, then this works well.

And yes, I'd agree the playing has come on well.

  • god!

this sounds fucking awesome.. I wonder how is it for studio recording

  • The downside of all this is that you don't have the tele bridge pickup. But it's still a cool thing.

  • I think you've gotten a lot better at guitar since your hey days. Cool guitar too bruh.

  • Aww Fender stole my idea... I wanted to build something like this. Still might...

  • VERY nice. I'm looking into making a nice stereo rig centered around a Epi Lucille, buit this would be awesome as well.

  • wow, this is a great one. You can tell he just had fun with this.

  • Watch this video with CC on.

  • Holy crap thats hilarious!

  • I think I'd rather just hire some punk with a Taylor GS8e than get this thing for a live show.

  • Damn, kinda wanted one already, but would want one more now....

  • wow ..impressive guitar

  • Great playing, Andy! What were some of the effects you used in the recording of this?

  • Thank you! Boiling Point OD, Nova Repeater, Mellow Yellow Trem, and a Jamman Solo at the end.

  • Maybe it's an idea to put the fx used into the videos since we're asking all the time..?

  • cool

  • nice.

  • what"s the first song O:!

  • This. The first song sounds awesome!

  • Fantastic sounding guitar. Great playing too Andy =D

  • hey andy im curious how come you don't play with a pick? is that how you learned to play?

  • @guitar77432

i think it's because he is awesome.

  • @captainern

I must agree with you sir, im just curious as to why he chose to be awesome in such a way :)

  • no he learned with a pick but for some reason doesn't use one : |

    come on dude.

  • It's because he's cool like that!

  • @guitar77432

well, when i learned to play i kept losing my picks so i eventually just stopped using them. maybe he did the same?

  • that was some Great playing Andy !! i love the looping at the end . this guitar is something to look into ~
