  • I got 1 thing to say... HOLY SH**

  • 58 cycles or revolutions per second is 3480 RPM, pretty good for such a heath robinson arrangement :-)

Good use for a dead hard drive.

  • LOL haha funny

  • 80gb in 3 seconds

  • An interesting aspect of that motor is its ability to produce a very high speed yet random activity. One could try getting that to activate a bifilar coil magnetic field collapse and charge a battery with radiant energy... in a random order. That's be interesting.

  • nice...i like it dude...i had a lot of fun building mine...I was the first many years ago :) So what else you got, other crazy things?

  • measure RPM please :p

  • someting is telling me to copy this and add it into a laser light show Ive been working on...

  • @dxproductions100

Yup, Sadly it was my first 200gb hard drive that cost me 150$ and only lasted 4months :(

Now it's reading at super speed!!!

  • @Bobensen Looks like 40 or 80 GB.

  • @christiancapella1

Nope It was a 200, It had 3 platters I believe... Back in the day it cost me about 90$ on sale, It was a great drive while it lasted....

  • @Bobensen You know what I do with dead hard drives, I take the magnets from them.

  • @christiancapella1

yes! the magnets atre the best part of the dead ones.

  • @christiancapella1 And I take the magnets too, but I'm melting the hard drive, making it usable again for some aluminium pouring :P:P

  • @bebek1993 Lol.

  • omfg fix the disk looks messed up nice on motor but fix disk

  • Wow, I'm suprised the head took such a beating. Didn't know it could move that fast. :P

  • whats the song in the beginning?

  • nvm at the end it says u used fruity loops. is it a finished song that u made or is it just a preloaded thing

  • This gives me an idea. How about using a small, gas-powered reciprocating model airplane engine to drive the hard drive platters of a working hard drive? It can happen, I just know it!

  • @bcdoggie

The drive would spin way too fast... WAY too fast....

  • toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much free time

  • I do have a lot sometimes, when I do i just tinker with things

  • nice! *hunts for hard drive*

  • that hard drive is having a hard time reading the disk!

  • cool!

  • Interesting...

  • if it goes to 52 Hz.. then 52 * 60 = 3120 rpm

  • most annoying voice ever

    sounds like marge

  • How about this if my voice is soooooooo annoying DONT WATCH MY VIDEOS!! DEAL WITH IT OR DONT EVEN BOTHER

  • Dude, just leave him alone. Not his fault anyway.

  • haha choook chooook!!:p

  • next time crank that mofo up to 100... and make sure you got some sort of protection! im making one of those thx to this video :D

  • That is so cool. im goin to make one!!

  • Cool dude, did you see mine I made like a year ago? Very god job...we should see who can get the most HZ...I got to 55 but now I am going to go and try 60! I will post and look to see if you can beat me...good luck.

  • That would be intresting until my rig explodes in my face (hopefully not) I'm pretty sure i can get it to go just a bit faster with a couple modifications. And by the way, I was inspired to make one after seeing your video. THANKS FOR THE IDEA!

  • how do i build one would be fun sens i got alot of dead drives :D

  • do u know the size of the disc

  • 3.5 inches

  • At 52 Hz It Would Have Been Turning At 3120 RPM.

(Every Cycle Of The Wave It Would Spin Once,

    and 52x60=3120)

  • if i can ask where you got the 60 from?

  • Hz (Hertz) Is A "Per SECOND Measurement" and RPM is Revolutions Per MINUTE, and there are 60 seconds in a minute.

  • hey thanks you said :P

  • Great idea! And nice job with the editing as well.

  • First view, I still love you videos as always.
