    Ecce haereditas Domini, filii

    Merces, fructus ventris

  • This is the most amazing celestial piece ever. That kind of inspiration must come directly from heaven. Can someone tell me what language is it? please!!!

  • @Rtype1000 A tehetséget a jó Istentől kapjuk.

  • This is like a piece of exquisite jewel... just can't help to listen to it over and over again.

  • It's just AMAZING!!!!

  • and it means?

  • Philippe is an angel...

  • Most likely, Vivaldi didn't give a second thought of composing the text as one unit because of this, but the character of th music is clearly influenced by the first sentence.

    Othervise, beautiful video!

  • You left out the translation of the first sentence (or, rather, misplaced it for the III.movement): Cum dederit dilectis suis somnum = For so he giveth his beloved sleep.

By the logic of thoughts, it doesn't belog to the second sentence, but they became first and second half of one verse of psalm in Roman liturgy (sung in Vespers).

  • Yes. It's my mistake, sorry.

Merci

  • Thanks for uploading this!

Merci

  • Very good video... thank you!

  • Thank you, Anna.

  • Divine presentation of the divine voice singing ... the divine piece by the divine composer...

    Thank you...

  • Great thanks for the divine comment :)

  • Thank you very much! I thought there might be some simple explanation along those lines, that's why I asked. You know, when I went to school in Budapest, there was no religious education at school there, and even though I've been trying to catch up in all sorts of ways, there are always bits and pieces I manage to miss. I think you, being from St Petersburg, might well know what I mean from your parents' and grandparents' generation. Thank you again for your answer as well as for posting, Anna.

  • YES!!!!!! The succession of generations is the Great Power!

  • divine! jaroussky is angelic!

  • Divine Vivaldi too! No?

  • The recording is of course nothing short of sublime, and the pictures are also very, very beautiful. Just one question... Why do several people on here say that this is Psalm 126? I've checked in a number of Bibles, including the King James Authorised version, and they all list it as 127! Not that this takes away any of the merits of this video, of course... Thank so much you for posting it, anyway!!!

  • Yes, you are right, but point is that the numeration of psalms is different. Number 126 - is from Clementine Vulgate preserving Septuaginta's numeration. Protestants and Protestant composers returned to the numbering of the Hebrew Bible (H). Almost all modern bible-editions use the Hebrew numbering. I.e. "Nisi Dominus" have number 127 in some books. Vivaldi was Catholic composer and he used numeration from Vulgate.
