@bobby8u I don't think we are judging on a gender basis here- Dylan has a label thus he was put out there Ani didn't compromise thus she self started and gained great success-though of course not at Dylan's level. But I don't think it's a gender thing whatsoever. Dylan and Difranco both have amazing and relevant things to say. Dylan championed human rights in his lyrics/poetry before Difranco was conceived.

Sessions @ West 54th St was such a great PBS show , remember this one clearly as it also featured "Tricky" which was fun .. Ani's a bit young at this time & height of career , lil self absorbed in this period she was trying to be the "pretty girl"..the pink braids worked ok .
