  • Recently coming from a video where someone tried to disprove the earth spinning by using a car and a toy helecopter, it's nice to see a video with someone demonstrating interesting experitmental technique. It's also nice to post a comment without getting it deleted by the author.

  • Yes, the change in the direction of Foucault's Pendulum's motion CAN be used to argue the earth is moving (rotating and/or orbiting), as it is used in the explanation in the video. BUT it CAN ALSO be used to argue that the earth is NOT moving, attributing the change in direction of the pendulum's motion NOT to any movement on the part of the earth BUT RATHER to the gravitational effect of the rotation of the whole universe moving around a FIXED EARTH. Peace.

  • @mitomano88 So you're saying the earth is flat and the center of the universe?

  • @mitomano88 Such attributions are easy to falsify.

  • I KNOW ANOTHER WAY TO PROVE THAT THE EARTH ROTATES. Look at a cloud. It is not moving. But it LOOKS like it is. The earth rotating makes a cloud look like its moving. Therefore. The earth rotates.

  • @PivotBloodArrow Clouds move too...

Not to be a troll/hater or anything, but your argument is invalid...

  • @PivotBloodArrow The clounds move by the flow of air in the troposphere generated by regions of low and high air pressure.

  • @PivotBloodArrow Are you drunk or did you fail middle school science?

  • it actualy can tell time. the one in boston museum of science does

  • I was once advised by one mr. John Dobson that, since the earth is part of the entire cosmos and everything in there follows the laws of motion, the pendulum shows not only the motion of the earth, but the momentum of the entire universe. Or as he eloquently put it, "If your hair doesn't stand on end when observing this you must be dead."

  • what is the song at the beginning called?

  • @phantomx199119

That's a royalty free music from a musician from internet. I didn't get to save a copy with it's title and lost the link.

I think it was something like "Angels" singing.

  • There is no bearing at the top of this pendulum. There does not need to be for it to work. The ball rotates with the earth but the line of swinging motion does not.

  • his voice is not clear -.-

  • I suggest you listen to the explanation using a nice headphones. I always use one and its not that bad. He really talks fast but the main idea is clear enough.

  • @pricelessclips can't hear his voice. perhaps you should put what he says on the screen verbally if you can hear it.
