@NDogg15 Not necessarily -- but I have seen a trend where most of the questions are dumbed down and intended to play off Steve Harvey's talents as a comedian. Richard Dawson and Ray Combs (and heck, even Anderson, Karn and O'Hurley) let things happen naturally, but I don't believe Steve has these same talents so they have to force things. I mean, revenge questions? Questions about Tarzan this and Batman that? Pleeeze!

I was so happy to see Richard Dawson return, yet bummed that this version was cancelled very quickly. I owe it all to my viewing stations at the time, which were WRDC-TV (Raleigh), and WWOR-TV (New York).

For me, it was KTBS in Shrevport, which aired it at 1:35 in the morning until the New Price Is Right was cancelled, then they moved it back to 4.

I never knew the Trejo family came back when Richard returned in 94. When Richard asked Pat when is this happy event and Pat says September 28th, Richard is thinking doesn't that sound familiar and brought back memories of that day during Fast Money.

Edie also made Richard crack up by saying Cuckoo for a noisy bird.

I believe if I read correctly that NBC owns the format for 15 years from the last date of broadcast (Dec 31, 1993). I'm not sure if this will put that back into Fremantle's hands once the start of 09' comes, but hopefully that'll free up a possibility of seeing the Narz/Trebek episodes to come on air.

Mark Goodson productions was sold to All-American in 1995 or so. The company does not exist. Fremantle owns the show, lock, stock and barrel.

And never say never...it has aired on an episode by episode basis in the last few years...but because it had lower clearance and is not remembered as well by the general public, there's probably not as high as a demand for it as the classic shows..

Yes, and it was in the same deal as TPIR, cause they were currently airing when GSN started in 1994. Michael Fleming let the rights expire (more infamously for TPIR, and now that and seemingly tons of other problems keep that off of GSN, but that's another story) and that's why you no longer see it regularly. While it would be a novelty and wasn't THAT bad, I'd prefer classic Dawson and Combs myself.

I vaguely remember seeing the 94'-95' eps having aired at some point in the late 1990s on GSN. At the moment, I've seen all episodes currently running except the horrid Anderson eps on at various times during the day. And it could be awhile since the Combs' eps JUST got back in rotation in the last month or 2...

Many families from the original 1976-1985 versions of the show came back in 1994. They were featured in the show's second half, usually, to play against the family who won the first half. (However, in 1995 they started having returning champions and took this out of play.)
