The Trujilo family's infamous "September" answer -- now that's how to create a true classic moment on a game show. No manufactured humor, such as the recent "What does James Bond do in a sexy way?" question. I'll let you see that clip so you see what I mean.
@NDogg15 Not necessarily -- but I have seen a trend where most of the questions are dumbed down and intended to play off Steve Harvey's talents as a comedian. Richard Dawson and Ray Combs (and heck, even Anderson, Karn and O'Hurley) let things happen naturally, but I don't believe Steve has these same talents so they have to force things. I mean, revenge questions? Questions about Tarzan this and Batman that? Pleeeze!
As if the September wasn't bad enough, in that woman's fast money she was asked "Name a noisy bird" and she said "A Cuckoo". Richard once again loses it.
This is great bringing them back....but question.....does anyone have the Fast Money clip from Dawson 1994/95 with the question "Name something that weighs more than a ton"? Not quite "September," but funny nonetheless.
I was so happy to see Richard Dawson return, yet bummed that this version was cancelled very quickly. I owe it all to my viewing stations at the time, which were WRDC-TV (Raleigh), and WWOR-TV (New York).
If you haven't seen or know anything about the September episode then you won't know what Richard is talking about. Watch it and you will see just exactly what happened. Its very funny!
I never knew the Trejo family came back when Richard returned in 94. When Richard asked Pat when is this happy event and Pat says September 28th, Richard is thinking doesn't that sound familiar and brought back memories of that day during Fast Money.
Edie also made Richard crack up by saying Cuckoo for a noisy bird.
Request for a full length episode of this show DENIED. Too many "DEMANDING" request and poor use of language/good taste for requests for this piece. I might reconsider it someday if you are "NICE" enough.

#01- whomever gave me a "-" score, f**k you; #02- Fremantle better air these damn shows & #03- I WANT TO SEE THESE VERSION ON FULL EPISODES & ON GSN! Otherwise, I'm going to write to them HORRORABLY!!
Correction: NBC owns the entire FORMAT of Concentration. The original 50's version of Concentration and its syndicated versions at that time are the only versions ENTIRELY owned by NBC. Concentration '73 and Classic Concentration are PARTIALLY owned by FremantleMedia, as they were Goodson-Todman game shows at the time.
I believe if I read correctly that NBC owns the format for 15 years from the last date of broadcast (Dec 31, 1993). I'm not sure if this will put that back into Fremantle's hands once the start of 09' comes, but hopefully that'll free up a possibility of seeing the Narz/Trebek episodes to come on air.
Well, Mark Goodson productions own portion of FF and needs to air these shows on GSN like n-o-w and today! I'm getting tired of seeing of his older versions!
And never say never...it has aired on an episode by episode basis in the last few years...but because it had lower clearance and is not remembered as well by the general public, there's probably not as high as a demand for it as the classic shows..
Yes, and it was in the same deal as TPIR, cause they were currently airing when GSN started in 1994. Michael Fleming let the rights expire (more infamously for TPIR, and now that and seemingly tons of other problems keep that off of GSN, but that's another story) and that's why you no longer see it regularly. While it would be a novelty and wasn't THAT bad, I'd prefer classic Dawson and Combs myself.
I vaguely remember seeing the 94'-95' eps having aired at some point in the late 1990s on GSN. At the moment, I've seen all episodes currently running except the horrid Anderson eps on at various times during the day. And it could be awhile since the Combs' eps JUST got back in rotation in the last month or 2...
Honest truth, seeing this in 1994 is when I first got exposed to this infamous moment. Seeing it about 3 times on the reruns on GSN--I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!
Many families from the original 1976-1985 versions of the show came back in 1994. They were featured in the show's second half, usually, to play against the family who won the first half. (However, in 1995 they started having returning champions and took this out of play.)
B/c I was to hear the full jazz theme, see how the rest of the show does, the game board, fast money, etc.! Why?! I want to see how the show went and hear the jazz theme of the FEUD! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Yes! Please can I see the full episode of this show? I need to know, how they reveal the answers on the board and hear the speed-up theme in its entirely.
all right! I sincerely apologize, for my actions of rudeness. I'm dead serious and won't do it again. EVER! Can I please, see the full episode of this and/or any shows of the Family Feud 1994, so I can listen to the speed-up theme & cues of the jazz theme, please?
I don't think i've ever laughed so hard! LOL

The great Family Feud September Incident of 1980 will forever be known as the day Richard Dawson made one of the funniest jokes of all time.
Dawson- During what month do you begin to feel pregnant?
Tires Lady- September.
*Dawson bursts out laughing*
And if that weren't enough...
Dawson- Name a noisy bird.
Tires Lady- A Cuckoo.
*Dawson bursts out laughing (again)*
Epic, my friend. Epic. In every sense of the word.

It was great to see Richard & the Trejo family back on the show. I love Richard's reaction when they are showing the clip.
The only thing I wish is that this would have lasted longer and they didn't change the number of family memebers from 5 to 4.

That was a rule change for this version only. Every other version has 5 per family.

I understand that. But WHY does this version have only 4 members per family?
TVLubber 4 years ago
No real reason, actually. They just felt like tweaking the formula.
dknights411 4 years ago
Could be because they brought back a lot of families from the old version, and most of them probably couldn't have all five in attendance.
