This is absolutely beautiful, the connection with horse and rider is incredible. I would just love to have the know how to be able to teach a horse to respond in this way. My horses have given me peace of mind and soul. Thank you for such a beautiful video.

Collaboration and connection isn't something we need to 'teach' the horse, but rather when we make ALL our interactions with him positive, encouraging and calm - like teaching a child to ride a bicycle - a beautiful relationship results. Moreover, in learning to relate in this way (thru positive reinforcement), the animals in our life teach us to be a better 'human' animal :-) ~ Cynthia Royal

I get a lot of "competitive" horse people being rude or thinking badly of me for letting my pony teach me how he thinks. And often have to deal with being thought badly of for riding bare back or experimenting without a bit/bridle.

I try not to let it get to me, but the few times it does, i watch this video and it reminds me that both me and my pony are far happier doing things our own way rather than the 'traditional' way. Thank you so much Cynthia and Blanco for being such an inspiration x

Me to same as Rakettfua....ridden owned horses all my life til few years ago when I was diagnosed with rheumatoud arthritis :-( has surgery on my hand recently ...I want to get back in the saddle somehow I miss it so much.

@rakettfua - I work with special needs children who take riding lessons on specially trained therapy horses and ponies, and I believe that people with illness or other challenges would be wise to carefully consider the benefits of being with animals... animals ask for nothing and give so much. I watched and smiled the whole way through, until the tears came... This is so beautiful and respectful! Bless you for letting this beautiful creature keep her dignity! THIS is how it should always be! I had a "pet horse" when I grew up, he was following me in the fields like a dog, my sister and I played tag around him, using his legs to turn corners faster, running underneath his belly. I know they are kind and gentle and they only wish for kindness and gentleness to be showed to them as well.

I just saw this beautiful horse, Shadowfax, here in AZ with the ownner, Cynthia Royal. This horse is amazingly beautiful and was in the movie, Lord of the Rings. Cynthia trains them to ride without bridal and saddle and they have an upcoming clinic in AZ in Jan 09 to train this method! She is amazing!!
