According to 4/15/11 UsaToday newspaper the price of gas in Los Angeles right now on average is $4.20 a gallon. In Chicago it's $4.17. I studied Law, not Economics, but in my country, Erasmus University is known for it's economic studies. the problem with surveillance society is, once its there and established, once the freedom was taken away, once some body with wrong ideas came to power in the country, he can use all that mechanisms to control the whole society, seen several times during the mankind history
look at the patriot act, as u said, it isnt even useful since terrorists are not completly dumb(very very very but not competly), but its still in use, for what reason?

Which shows that it wasn't a failed promise but deliberate act. Someone came into power promising to eliminate, but instead extending the act. Like you said, "for what reason"? I think we can conclude from the whole thing about sending a friend's email to the government, the reason why it is still in action.
But from water boarding, we were able to get some of those key words and stop terrorist acts on several occasions.

Please name any person that Obama has dramatically changed the life of in a good way. I do not agree with Paul because of his "Osama" comment. If anyone is ignorant, it's you worshipping a human. I still don't see what "new heights" you speak of. I'm still waiting for him to stop whining about the "inherited recession" and our apparently corrupt healthcare system. The only thing corrupt about healthcare, is the people constantly suing doctors. That's why prices have shot!
