this song is definitely in C# - for you all numpties who keep saying LOG only play drop D, follow these instructions to understand. Tune your guitar to Drop D - easy to do, right? Place Sacrament CD in player, and play along to Walk with me in Hell - great sounds good. Next remove Sacrament CD, and replace with Wrath CD. Play Grace and notice that suddenly all that lovely tab you spent weeks learning doesn't seem to be in tune. Why? Bcos it's NOT FUCKING DROP D TUNED!
@bmxfreak237 They used Drop C on Wrath, on Fake Messiah, Broken Hands and on Reclamation. But on the previouse records they played in drop D and on wrath as well.
Actually drop D tuning is STANDARD tuning with the 6th(lowest string) dropped down one step. That is the ONLY string going down a full step.
This song is in drop C# sharp tuning however. Meaning, all strings minus the 6th are dropped a HALF step, with the 6th string being dropped a full, meaning Eb -> C#
@UpstateEG51 Perhaps I should just re-record this video and explain it better. Yes, you are exactly correct and that is what I meant. In fact, I'm considering taking your explanation and putting it in the video info so people quit telling me I'm wrong about the tuning. What you said is exactly what I meant.
Hey man do you think you could put the tabs in the description? It's kind of hard to make out exactly what your playing what with the quality down-grade of YouTube. Thanks a lot for posting this video, peace!
Dude i play this song all the time and its not in Drop C its in Drop C# if you actually play with the song i can promise you that those two low notes arent there !
ah yes i see now. you just made it sound a little more complicated when you could have just said drop C#. but oh well no harm, just confused your fellow youtube users.
Ampeg BA-112 and a Boss Metal Zone II. It's actually a Bass Amp. Honestly, most of that was a new setting I was trying and the tinny computer microphone.
Sorry to have offended. Can't afford much else right now, friend, and frankly, I think the sound is ok--and very different from the recorded sound--after having messed with the settings. Good to know you feel so great about your gear, though.
actually i play it in drop C which is C G C F A D its a half step down from what you have. i do it by ear though since tabs are usually wrong. i use tabs to help tho and the one i have is in C not C# of course you can play it in C#
we all know that lamb of god tunes to drop D, but for this song its a half step down also, so way to try to look like some fan who knows everything, but you just made yourself seem kinda dumb
hell yeah i learned it by ear the same way, i had thouhgt the same thing when i saw these other people playing it wrong, so check out my vid of grace and comment if you like it XD
good video, and i agree i fuckin love this song with a passion, got the album yesterday and like you said it was the first one to jump out at me, i also like fake messiah it has a dark catchy rhythm.
Thanks geniuses, but it is tuned to c# and I say that in the video ("...they tune to drop-D, and then it's down a half step" D - half step = c#). I just checked this video against an online tuner, and my open bottom string sounds pretty damn close to their c#. If it sounds a little bit off, it's likely some sort of distortion that happened in the video uploading.
thank god someone is actually posting the right way ._.;; I've been trying to get a cam to do it myself but blah. Sounds like your tuning is slightly flat but w/e GJ
yo dude good stuff, major LOG fan myself and its definitely a hard riff to do, well done! Gutted about the distortion sound tho :(

Hey dude... you know there are more strings than the d flat string? you can play alot of those notes on the a flat string
MartyrOfMetal 1 year ago
@MartyrOfMetal Buuuuut it's way easier if you play it this way. Plus, you can play it however you want, the only thing that matters is the sound.
RemusN7 1 year ago
@RemusN7 actually it's not easier, but the sound is different...
svelle37 1 year ago
@svelle37 Yeah, some things must be played on a certain string, like this riff, or many others, like some riffs in Hourglass or Pathetic.
